Wow, this is crazy. I have personally seen how hard your dad works. Thank you for sharing this story. I’m gonna speak to several others who also know him. Will stay tuned for more info hopefully on a GoFundMe or something similar. God bless your dad, he is a good man.
This is awesome! I am so thankful you said this. Yes, I'm not sure anyone works as hard as he does, especially at his age. I appreciate all these kind words. You can shoot me an e-mail if you want to tell me how you know him.
I did start a GoFundMe, but still waiting to see if I can share the link or not. If not, it should be easy to find if you take any of the info I have provided in here.
Thank you so very much.

Your dad can’t possibly work much longer. We need to put some thought into plans for that time.
This is getting overlooked imo. The man is 86. Acquiring a work van for him to earn money to support his disabled children is a temporary fix. How much longer can he possibly provide for them? A few years at most?
Also, I'd be willing to contribute if a gfm or something similar is set up but I must reiterate that this is a very temporary solution.

Wait, how old was your mother, and she was still working?

And she back in with her ex? How old was he?
She's retired on SS. They are both in their lower 70s.

Not making lite of you situation, but it’s a pretty odd story.
Oh no, it's all good. It is a very odd situation. There is nothing normal about our life.

Thanks to you I had to endure all of this past baseball season, but on the other hand owe you for all the 2025 championship year. I've contributed to other GFM causes, and have donated vehicles directly to deserving persons. Can't do a direct donation right now, nor do I have a suitable vehicle to donate.
I know a shop owner who repaired one of those vehicles for donation free of charge, but he is in NOLA, so it would have to be shipped to him, unless I can also convince his tow guy to make a trip. You say the van has other issues as well, so would it be suitable in the long run to repair, or is the real solution a replacement? The scary thing to me is seeing the prices of used vehicles these days. Does it also have to be a van? Need wheelchair access? Important to know if a transmission solves your problem or not.

It's something that keeps him up every night worrying over and gets him so depressed. He worked hard his whole life and has nothing to show for it. I know he can't work or live forever and there needs to be more done to secure her future, but for right now my dad is desperate to work and we really need a reliable vehicle to care for immediate needs before planning for long term. I was hoping to get a decent enough van that can also serve as our only means of transportation for when he can no longer work. His van before it broke-down didn't even have AC. It was awful.

Thank you so much. If you are able to search my username you might be able to find it.

If we can buy 4Chubbies a bike, for sure we should be able to buy Hardway Hayward a work van!!

Thank you so much, Bayou Tiger
I would love to write your username and any others that leave theirs on a magnetic board that says thanks.
Then if and when we are able to get him a new van we could attach the magnetic board to the side of the van with all the usernames and have him drive around town with it.

In for $25 (sorry not an OT baller). Got burned on here for the last GoFundMe for Tanden but this one seems more legit. I hope you're able to get to a van or someone on here can fix the previous one. Sounds like your dad is an extremely hard worker and I can admire that especially in old age for providing for your family/sister. Good luck
If anyone wants to find the link, GoFundMe and then type in his username beau christopher. Pops right up

yep. Found it and donated. Good luck man. I think once word gets out then you will far surpass your goal (Goal might be too low anyway considering the prices of vehicles these days)

Donated. Good luck brother. Thank you for everything you have done for us.

So what we got here.
Is a good old man,
Dealt a real bad hand,
Needs a decent van,
And the tale ain't shifty...
But thanks to his son,
We've watched free a TON,
As the Tiger's won...
So he's earned my Tree Fifty...
