I hate that I'm saying this, but anyone that posts egregious false posts like that should be prosecuted.

Rant over

This thread has my stomach in knots since that pic of those young girls was posted. I really hope there are some happy endings with this story. Children don't deserve this.

How could those girls still have their flip flops on? Seems fishy.

In the pic, the flip flops are clearly at least 4 sizes too big for the girl. Someone gave them to her.

i was thinking this earlier as well when the twitter link was deleted...i'd like to believe that no one would post false information intentionally, but i think we all know that some people are such attention whores that nothing is out of the question...

My sister is good friends with one of the missing little girl's mom. She said she's hysterical right now.

How far is this from horseshoe bay? Only ask because that’s the only area of hill country I’m familiar with besides Austin proper.

One our friends daughters is a counselor there. She had her group hold on to clothes lines until they got rescued. That’s at least the story I’ve heard so far. I’m getting pretty delayed info because I’m in India and just woke up to all this.

Has to be a terrible feeling knowing your child is out there missing and you can't do anything about it

Water will be hitting spring branch soon. At least everyone there has notice.

We crossed the Guadalupe this morning near comfort and it was insane how much water was moving.

This story is making me sick.

An hour south of Marble Falls. Creek/river system that flows through Canyon Lake, NB, Seguin.

Marble falls is the river system that is north of the Guadalupe.

24 confirmed fatalities so far, so sad.

My ex was a Mystic camper and then a counselor. Three generations in her family have gone there and that's not unusual. Their alumni group on Facebook has over 700 members. This is a huge blow to a lot of people

This is one of the more gut wrenching stories I’ve ever followed as a dad to two young girls who go to camps like this.

People will try to assign blame but I’m not sure you can in this case as fast as the water rose.

Bottom line is moving forward I don’t think you can have permanent structures that close to the water. At least not helpless kids. Analyze where the safety line was this time and go up another 50 feet.
