This is inherently not true if your Student Loan is serviced through the US Dept of Education.

Theyll keep it frozen until 2024 so they can come back and claim 'we would have cancelled them but those pesky Republicans stopped us! Its your fault for letting them win the midterms!"

Its all so predictable its boring.

I’m waiting on them to unfreeze it so whoever I need to pay mine off to can contact me. I tried logging into Navient recently and they had no record of me having a loan with them. I googled it and apparently Navient stopped serving student loans. Whoever they passed mine off to didn’t care to contact me while they’re frozen though.

I won't bitch if it happens. I got charged way more for my education anyways since I came from out of state.

Of course you won't complain. You're totally fine with asking ME and every tax paying citizen on this board to give you an enormous financial windfall after we've already settled our debts. Where do you think this money comes from? Why do you think you don't have to pay off a loan that YOU took out and signed for? And you didn't have to go out of state for school.

That's your take on what I said? How about frick Louisiana for charging me more. How about the only differences between myself and plenty of students that received tops were that they were a resident prior to going to school here, I made the school look better with my higher GPA and graduating top of class, with that they got paid to go to school while I had to borrow a shite load for the same thing, and lastly I still live in the state paying taxes while many of those I graduated with do not.

Don't preach to me about getting something and not paying taxes. I get your comments, but they don't apply to me. It's okay for Louisiana to frick me, meanwhile I actually added value to the state and school? Why don't you go tend to laundry and let your hubby have the adult conversations. I didn't ask for this, I just said I won't bitch if it happens.

If they extend it again I'm not expecting to ever have to pay it back. You can't use the covid excuse to extend it anymore since Covid is over

I answered a phone call about student loans. Asked if I owed more than 10k in loans (yes) and if I was interested in 10k loan forgiveness (well sure). Asked my balance, then my annual income, then how many in my household (3), then the muthrfukr just hung up on me! I would have preferred he tell me I make too much, therefore am not eligible. At least then I could have told him to frick off before hanging up.

Wife's veterinary school and clinicals put us over 200k. I'm against any principal forgiveness, but putting interest rates to 0 I'm completely for. For these big balances the interest is killer.

If they go through with this and cancel the loans, they damn sure better quit making student loans.

Quit making federally backed student loans*

Have it like a mortgage. But instead of income/assets/credit make it about the degree pursued and the future value and earning potential of that degree.

I've paid mine down about $10k in the pause, but wasn't making full payments.

I'd say I'm kinda in the boat where they need to stop extending it so I can stop having anxiety about budgeting and having to start paying them in full again.

Or they just need to make them interest free permanently.

When I consolidated mine after grad school I was around $52k. But that included the deferred interest being rolled into it.

Lazy fricks need to get off their asses, quit mooching off mom and dad and go to work. Put those art history and gender studies degrees to good use at Starbucks.

Mine come due this June. I'll just pay them. The last thing I have faith in is the government actually cancelling this debt.

This is the only tax break during COVID that has benefited my wife and me, so I’ll selfishly take it.

My sister has voted D ever since she turned 18. She has over 50K of student debt that she has slowly worked to pay off over the years.

I'm sure she'll still blindly support Brandon after this.
