Forgive my ignorance, but why waste the time and resources to build a mock aircraft carrier just so you can blow it up?
I mean if you know how big the aircraft carriers are, you know how explosive your own missiles are...what exactly is to be gained through this experiment?

I admire the effort but do they realize the carrier will not be close to Iran to launch an attack on Iran? Going to have to have some monster gas tanks on those boats to reach the carriers.

CIWS was one of the great GQ stations because the control room had A/C, forget being on a fire response team in a fire suit while crossing the Strait of Hormuz.

they wouldn't even get close to the carrier....everybody in this thread is talking about the carriers defenses...its the small boys that they need to be worried about...not to mention the gunships in the air while we transit...fricking hajis...

I don't get the point. Why not just bait us into a land invasion of their country. Then they could just hide out in caves and townships methodically accumulating American body bags, creating a shite storm of problems for US through the anti-war media mechanism, until we leave before finishing the job for fear of political retributions, and then they can just team up with their ISIS buddies to invade surrounding nations without any retribution from the west.
