Hmmm. Multiple companies have dropped rates. Companies are re-entering the market. It takes time.

I don't expect the folks at LA Weekly to understand economics, though.

Neither are the shitty trial lawyers who couldn’t cut it in any other law discipline.

Yes just what we need in America. More giant corporations with even more concentrated wealth.

Allstate just had an across the board reduction. 3-7% and even more has been planned by them before this one goes into effect 4/5.

What’s the reasoning? My guess is agents haven’t been expensing as many golf games as usual due to covid closures?

frick the insurance companies.
frick Donelon (does NOTHING to protect the rate paying public)
frick the legislature

Add up all them fricks and as always, the people get fricked. Insurers make out like bandits.

I have little idea what auto insurance costs, but I think any sane person ought to be able to get behind the idea of limiting the power of the civil court system.

And so do the ambulance chasing attorneys, and their "clients"

If one of the three has to get rich... I'm gonna go with insurers over the other two.

They On the side that makes money and they are fiercely competitive with each other.

The independents hate the captives like State Farm and Allstate since they can come in and sweep an area. They can also offer investments.

They will fight tooth and nail against each other but they need carriers to come in. Slapping the lawyers down helps

Insurance rates are unidirectional. .

They only go up and there's zero accountability in the industry.

They consider all claims and they can do as they please.

Insurance companies are making yuge profits thanks to Covid. Claims were way down in 2020 thanks to lockdowns and limited travel both for business and vacations. That’s why you are seeing small rebates and rate cuts. Nothing to do with tort reform-which is merely a way for insurance companies to increase their margins on claims paid.

Single driver, my auto insurance premium instantly dropped $95 (about 35%) when I changed my address to Houston.

I'd rather an insurance company make money. They have thousands of employees and stockholders. When a trial lawyer wins a big judgment, a big chunk of that goes straight to some white trash idiot with a Faux Tuscan villa in Buckhead.
