I believe it has not yet gone into effect. It applied to injuries in 2021. Lawsuits with this new law wont be filed until 2022 and the law won't impact these lawsuits until applied during the suit (2023 or later?).

The total cost of my 6 month policy in texas is less than the per month cost for the same coverage in louisiana.

They're dropping a little, but not much. But remember they watered it down significantly in order to convince JBE not to veto.

They got the story from another Louisiana based website who's chief editor is Jarvis DeBerry who spent a long time as the Times-Picayune crime/court reporter.

So yeah, it's probably safe to say that it's a little bit biased.

When the attorneys are making less money because claims are paying less, that’s when rates will go down. The changes only went into effect this year and I doubt any accidents occurring after jan 1 have gone to trial. Why would you expect rates to go down now?

Exactly. Rates are not just going to drop overnight. It's going to take time to happen. Give it time

things don't happen overnight. but you're probably an idiot.

as someone intimately involved with the product and attorneys, i can tell you that we aren't the only state. Texas is just as bad now. the lawsuits are out of control.
not sure what the answer is, but something has to give eventually.

Tort reform, term limits, stopping unwanted phone solicitations, etc., politicians make promises, make a big show and discuss it, but do nothing. They don't care about anyone other than the people that support them with ridiculously large contributions.

R's have a veto proof majority so politics were in-play.
It will take several years for the reform to make it's way into auto rates.

you're dumb. the real shite was never passed and nothing ever happens over night if it was to pass. change takes time dumbass. go vote against reform and you'll be manually fricking yourself in the arse for decades more.

literally have a fricking lawyer as governor right now.

Yea I’d rather the insurance companies make more than the lawyers any day.
