The HoJo in downtown NOLA was Mark Essex' sniper perch in 1973.

It's now a Holiday Inn with a big clarinet on the side

We have a bunch of Big Boys here. I think they're under Elias Brothers. Not sure if Frisch's is still out there.

We used to love to hit Rax when driving through Ohio.

OWN A STEAK AND ALE

quote:

Created in 1966 by Norman Brinker. Once revered for its succulent Prime Rib, warm bread and bountiful salad bar, Steak and Ale is poised for an epic comeback. Redefined as a 21st Century polished-casual concept, while retaining the signature elements that made it an American classic, the new Steak and Ale will once again set the standard for affordable steakhouses. Guided and supported by an expert operations and management team, qualified franchisees have the opportunity to generate immediate consumer loyalty by bringing back a beloved restaurant blessed with decades of goodwill and brand equity. The new Steak and Ale, offering a polished casual experience at a casual dining price point, is positioned for phenomenal growth.

I miss the Western Steer. We ate there after church a lot on Sundays.

Big Boy is still open, albeit smaller. They have the best seasoning salt, I order it from them by the case.

If Sam Battistone was on fire in front of me I would get more gasoline. He was an owner of the N.O. Jazz and was responsible for moving them to SLC.....at the time, I used to go the games as a kid just about every other weekend....I was a huge fan.....Pistol Pete, Truck Robinson, Gail Goodrich....Aaron James
