Glaucoma drugs have been shown to prevent weight gain in mice, according to a new study.

A new discovery could make it possible to eat all the fat you want without gaining a single pound - and it all happened by accident.

In a study using mice, Yale University researchers found they could prevent fat from being absorbed in the body by stopping its entry into the gut.

So what happened to all the fat the mice were consuming? In the toilet, according to study co-author Anne Eichmann - also from Yale - who told the magazine that fat was excreted into the mice's feces.

the discovery did come with health problems for the mice, like edema - a condition that causes swelling because of excess fluid in the body. Some of the rodents developed edema because the levels of liquid in their bodies were impacted by blocking the VEGF-A protein.

The keto folks will say you can already eat all the fat you want and not gain weight.

Really though eating fat isn’t all that bad as far as weight gain.

So they make all these cures for diseases caused by bad choices like obesity but scientists won’t even think about helping us innocent hangover sufferers

So you won't actually gain weight...you will just look like you did.

No thanks

Blocking absorption of something that is essential for your body to function seems unhealthy.

I remember the hype from PhenPhen.

I'm sure like that, this will one day be part of a class action advertised on daytime tv.

I believe it was called "anal seepage" which sounds so much worse.

That's not new. Other than taking in just too many macros overall, the real killer is sugar/carbs in general.

this is likely a really ignorant assumption and conclusion, but how can we trust "scientist" suggest to us their theories of evolution, climate change, big bang theory, etc...when it seems like half of their "discoveries" are discovered purely as accidents, like this one?

isaac newton died of mercury poisoning
Galileo thought the Earth's tide were due to the Earth's poor rotation path around the sun.
aristotle thought the earth was the center of the universe

Ehh better than nothing I suppose.

Now do the same for carbs or alcohol and you'll be onto something.
