"Hoosier" is basically calling someone White Trash in St. Louis.

My ex lived in St Louis for a long time and she said that.

She'd also shorten it to just 'hooz'. "Those girls are so hooz."

I feel the whole “making groceries” NOLA schtick is much like the Appalachian folks calling a bag a “poke”. Was prominent back in the day, but no longer used today for the most part.

Appalachia as well does this.

A “Bubbler” is a drinking water fountain in Wisconsin & close environs.

A “Soda” is a cold drink (soft drink, usually Pepsi) in St Louis.

Neutral grounds and Brake tags are still ubiquitous in NOLA. “Making groceries”, not so much.

Bubbler is not used in my part of WI. It's an eastern WI thing.

And I say soda while the majority say pop.

I've been told the term "Hellacious" is regional to south louisiana. Not sure, but I've heard this belief from different sources over a span of years.

Is “cold drink/cold drank” for a soda strictly Louisiana, or more of a Southern thing? I first heard the term in middle school from a white coach, but since then only black folks.
