But at the same time, no citizen of this city can feel confident their DA wouldn't throw them under the bus for a justified shoot either.
Got to replace that tactical light with a go pro.

Maybe some of those just getting started might rethink their career choice, but most of the guys I know have 15-20 years in and don't really have a lot of other options. It isn't like they can just find another job tomorrow making the same money. Cops don't start off making much, but after promotions and extra duty, they usually creep up around 6 figures. It's pretty hard to start somewhere from scratch making that much.

Who gives a frick? It doesn’t take much to train new cops. The profession is not compromised of jet propulsion engineers.

That's the thing. Who wants a job where you literally put your life on the line everyday while your chief/mayor/governor will throw you under the bus at the drop of a hat?

If I was a cop, I'd be applying at the McDonald's before I hung myself out to dry one minute more.

Nothing would make me happier than seeing those who want societal chaos GET the societal chaos they crave. That’s how humans learn, that’s how disastrous ideas are disproven. Real life shite- not bumper sticker slogans.

I’ve never been a cop on my life so I can’t even imagine what they’re going through. But if I was an Atlanta cop I’d hand my badge in and tell them they can shove it straight up the DA’s arse.

Suburban police departments are hiring and usually have sane political leadership that don't automatically throw their police under the bus

I've got 2 good buddies that are cops, and both them have asked me in the last week if my industry was hiring. Today my buddy told me after this Atlanta stuff that he does not want to be part of Law enforcement if this is the path forward.

Playing a bit of devil's advocate here but using Cop Logic against them, if they've not done or will do nothing wrong, what would they have to worry about? I know responses will flood in that "it's different now" but it's really not. Acquittals for cops has been a decades long thing. Just advise your friends to not be stupid and he will be just fine.

You know what else is hard, going to frick you up the arse jail for killing someone who was trying to kill you while doing your job. At least being able to start a new career means you still have a life.

They fricking should. God damned clown show going on in America right now.

Given the situation and the charges given, I see no reason as to why one should willfully join the police force. Low pay for fighting crime? No thanks. I'd rather join the fire department for comparable money and comradery.

think it would be foolish not to make sure you and your family are locked and loaded now if you live in Atlanta

If you don't live downtown with all the hoodlums you have nothing to worry about. I live itp, my mailing address says Atlanta. I'm less than 5 miles from downtown where all the shite has gone on and I'm 100% honest in saying that if it wasn't for news or social media I would have zero idea any of that was going on. Where I live is regular, normal people going on about their lives. Why should I be in any kind of fear bc of what the animals are doing in the bad parts of town?

Where would the 70% without a college degree even begin to find a job with the same pay and benefits?

Absolutely true. But don’t think they aren’t on notice to begin shopping around.

By the way, I don’t think these charges get by a grand jury.

It's happening.

Just got this email from an Atlanta police officer:

"Atlanta police officers are refusing to answer the radio and walking off of the job. The county can go screw themselves. If you want a society without police we’ll give you one. Let it burn!"
