I know it's fun to make fun of these people, but it's also really sad. These people were broken and that "community" is helping to keep them that way. One of the rules is "no gaslighting", but that entire forum is helping these people gaslight themselves into believing we live in a world were Covid is lurking around any corner, ready to pounce on them and anyone who doesn't live that way has "given up" or doesn't care about them.
And the people who have kids and continue to mask them are the worst. They need a stern wakeup call.

They certainly exist.
I think these people just suffer from severe social anxiety and have latched on to Covid as an affirmation for their anxiety.
They don't want to let go of Covid because then they would just be socially anxious for no reason.

The bigger issue here is that literally NOBODY tried to walk back her obsession with COIVD. I get being cautious, 4 years ago, but except for those in high risk groups, nobody is dying of COIVD these days. This tread made me look it up and there are roughly 1.5 hospitalizations per 100,000 people. Death rates per 100,000 are so low, that WHO doesn't even track it any longer.
This is a case of rational vs irrational fears. It's is like being afraid of sharks, or snakes or quicksand. Yes, those things can kill you, but French Fries are more likely to get the average American in the end. High cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes are all more likely to cause your demise than covid. And most people aren't afraid of French fries.
