I thought these were all turned off after the legislature banned them last year, except in Opelousas.

No need to contest it. You don’t have to pay those

Don't pay and file a FOIA request for everything related to the place where you got it, the camera operator, officer training, contract with the city etc etc. They will have to pay a lawyer to get all of that crap together for you. If everyone would do this we would have no camera tickets. It is completely legal to do and they have to comply because it is a federal law

Yes, in Opelousas. They mailed it to my dad's house. I called the sheriff office and asked what the ticket was and they said speeding. Told the lady on the phone I'm throwing the ticket away. Before she could utter another word I hung up.

Why contest it? I thought that's what trash cans were for.

Lemme guess, Coursey or Sherwood? Seems like the only cameras that work in the city are on Coursey and Sherwood. Throw that shite in the trash.

Yep. I got one in my mailbox. Shows I ran a red light at Coursey and Airline. BUT I wasnt driving, and it wasnt the vehicle I drive daily. It was my impatient husband in his truck. So…one of the issues with the whole premise of red light cameras. I did not, in fact, run a red light. Yet! Heres a ticket.

Not paying. Will never pay. Wasnt me. In fact, if queried, I never saw the fricker.

Don’t pay it, it won’t go on your driving record.

actually, you wouldn’t be applying under the federal FOIA rules. That only applies to federal records and documents. States have their own laws. In Louisiana it’s called the Public Records Act. For any State or local records, you would be applying under the Louisiana public records act.
