No def do not pay it. They rely on fear and bc of that about 50% are paid to the tune of 7 figures each year. Here is exactly what will happen:
You will get the fine in mail. Don’t pay it and another with late fee. Next will come letters from attorney our of Illinois. Then another. After several months of that and you ignoring everything it just goes away bc at some point they realize they’re wasting paper and postage on you. I have not paid several and buy trucks for my business once a year or so. Always 750+ on credit score and never any mention of these “unpaid” tickets.
Ignore or be part of the 50% who pay 7 figures to the parish for that BS. And I’m not saying for other parishes bc possibly could be different. But for EBR you can throw straight to trash

I got one in a DFW suburb a few years ago and it was 60 bucks so I just paid it so I could move on and not have to ever think about it again.

Nope. They will send you a bunch of letters. I took a right at a red light one night, I paused but didn’t stop for 2 seconds or something- didn’t pay it. Nothing ever happened other than them sending me letters and warnings. No credit issues, no warrants, nothing.

Check where the letters are coming from and ask yourself, "How can an outfit in 'Arizona'accept money for a broken law in Louisiana?" If you want to dispute it, you won't be doing it in a Baton Rouge court. It will be at a designated location with a board, not a judge, to review. Don't pay it. Ignore the letters. Don't even open them.

Don't pay it. Do not go to the link shown in the letter to view the video. They have no way to prove that you ever received the letter. If they were serious about it they would send it certified mail.
The vast majority of the tickets issued are for bogus right on red violations. You made a legal turn but you did not come to a complete stop then make your turn. Total BS. A real cop sitting at that intersection would not write you a ticket for that.

My wife gets these often. We get letters from law firms suggesting it’s the right thing to pay it. We never do. Has worked for a decade with no impacts on credit or at the dmv

In CO theres an option to reply saying you weren’t the driver, and then you can “voluntarily provide” the drivers information.

It's a money making, state approved scam identical to the "you owe the IRS $200 in gift cards or we're coming arrest you" scammers get old people with. Old people are the only people that pay this nonsense out of their naivety

Throw that ticket in the trash and don’t think twice about it. Those “scamera’s” that issue you tickets are just that, a total scam!

That is correct.

That is totally INCORRECT! That’s one of the biggest played lies with those stupid things. It will NOT end up anywhere near your credit report!

Throw that scamera ticket in the trash! It’s not worth the paper it’s printed on!

BINGO
There's absolutely no way you can enforce this and know whether or not you technically broke the law.

They aren't legal, there is no way to challenge them in the courts by design, there is also no way to enforce them in the courts. If they made it to a judge they could be overturned for being against the Louisiana constitution.
They legally cannot report you to any credit reporting agencies, they can't share your SS#. Don't pay it.
All of the ones I get are fricking bogus. They claim I don't stop on a right hand turn... well I stop at the line, have to move up to see and then go... I get one a week easy.

No, the Baton Rouge ordinance has no enforcement mechanism. Can't go on your credit, your license can't be suspended, they can't boot you or any other scare tactic you will be told from others. It is basically a donation you would be making to the City.

Wow. Didn't realize we had this many dindu's on the OT. I'm not going to pay and join the club.
