Are there big differences? Or are most all of them just brokers for the same fema coverage?

Same price everywhere. It is thru Fema no matter who writes it.

Just pay yourself $1000 a year. If it doesn't flood in the next 150-200 years you will come out ahead.

I think it is all the same and federally backed. Just go through your personal homes property insurance.

American National is good and they let you pay w credit card over the phone - so you can get an extra 30 days to pay it.

I have used Liberty Mutual before, but you have to mail the payment like it is 1989.

Most flood insurance is through FEMA via the NFIP but there are some private flood insurance companies out there. Problem is they're always more expensive.

We got quotes from several different brokers. All were dollars within each other. It’s all thru NFIP so there won’t be much difference.

I'm sorry I guess I should have clarified that all flood insurance is through FEMA, unless you want to pay double.

Flood insurance is through the government. If you use some company to get it for you they pay what you would pay plus what ever they want to tack on. I have flood insurance although not required where I live. I purchase straight from the government with no middle man involved

there isn't but one flood insurer. National Flood Insurance Program. In other words FEMA. The insurance company that insures your home can typically administrate your coverage, but you will be insured by FEMA, and the rates will not vary no matter who you get the insurance through.

We have Wright at the moment. Never had to file a claim, and we have an escrow so I do not deal with them.
