Yes, it will go on your record and if you intentionally remained too close, you deserved the citation. Someone else’s ignorance doesn’t absolve your ignorance.
I don’t understand the need of some idiots to make a statement in the road putting others in danger. Ego issues. Get over it and drive safely.

The difference being that the people merging aren't breaking the law. If its a 65 and you're going 75-80 in a merging area then you're the danger. Maybe slow down a bit realizing that this is an area with a merge and there may be drivers getting over in courtesy of those merging.

If you're in the passing lane, speed or get in the other lane. Don't be a fricking a-hole who holds up the rest of traffic.
It's fine if you want to drive the speed limit, but when you take it upon yourself to try and dictate how the rest of the traffic should operate you're creating a dangerous situation for yourself and other drivers.
Just let aggressive drivers drive pass you. Dont be a petty bitch and slow down in a lane that you're only supposed to be passing other cars in the first place.

To update I talked to a friend who is a LEO who knows said officer. Said ticket won't affect driving record as long as no other violations happen in a year's time. Officer also said he "would" have ticketed the other driver had I not been tailgating. I'll take my lick it's not a big deal to pay the fine....I was driving wreckless and being an a-hole.

I brake checked the frick outta somebody a few weeks ago going like 78. My girlfriend almost lost her shite. Dude deserved it, but in hindsight I regret doing it. He swerved like a motherfricker to avoid hitting me with his truck. Could have been real bad.
