i think the issue you're having is your grand points are basically assumptions behind most posts in this thread. it's not that people didn't realize your argument, it's that people already understood that and it wasn't needed to be said aloud

What?!
We are all going to be exposed to this virus, wrapping your face in a tshirt won’t save you. Neither will me hiding in my house for the next two years until a vaccine is available.
Continue with the openings, monitor the hospitals, protect the at risk as much as we can (the virus will kill some, but so will any other number of things), and let the rest of choose how to live our lives. This bullshite had gone on long enough.
