I just had a business interaction with a professional whose name was spelled Krisstel.
maybe she is of Nordic descent. They spell their names similarly.

Any Louisiana last name that ends in "x." Literally no other people with french heritage does this.
Just off the top of my head, Robicheaux is a French name that ends in "x."

What?
It's spelt "Brian!" If you want your son to be queer, replace the i with a y and see what happens. You've been warned.

As in from France? Could be, but I lived there for a while and never saw a last name spelt wth an x at the end. X is plural, so it could be les Robicheaux if we're talking about the entire family.

Nah, it's only in Louisiana and I just posted it for fun.
Yes in France.

Is a traditional old spelling. Nothing odd about it.

Lol. Well I guess there are some exceptions. Sure did rile a bunch of folk up, tho. And that's what I'm here for.

Yeah I know, but it's not common. I actually prefer it to the y version.

Nope. The first one is a name of a female family member, the second is a female name of a family friends child.

My hunch is that you would find it spelled more commonly as "Robichaud" in France.
I thought that the "x" spelling was more common in New World French names.

I knew this black chick whose name was pronounced "App-Less" but it was spelled Apples (like the fruit).
