I don’t relate to these lot cutting baws.
I have a finish mower on my tractor for the 10 acres surrounding the house

Scag is the best of the 3 and it's not even close. The Gravely and Scag should be compared to the Raptor SD not the Raptor. Raptor SD does have foot assist deck lift and comes is 36" or 42".
What hydrogears does each have? Not all Hydrogear drives are created equal... EZT, ZT2800, ZT3100?
I'd buy the Scag out of the 3, that LibertyZ is a great unit. 5yr/750 hr warranty on machine is hard to beat, 3yr warranty on Kawasaki Engine.

Try running that Scag at 5:30 AM, on a Saturday.

Most dealers that service homecenter mowers will laugh and put you at the end of the line. If I bought a Hustler buy it from a dealer that will back it up. When I ran 4 service centers homecenter customers were last in line which could be up to 3 to 4 weeks during peak times when most mowers break. My customers 1 to 3 days at the most if waiting on parts. Homecenter customers 3 weeks minimum.
Lowes uses Altiquip which is a big warehouse and are parts changers. If it comes to carb cleaning or hunting down electrical short good luck.
Yes, you are way overthinking a Residental mower purchase.

What are your thoughts on a Snapper ZTR?
My mom and grandmother swore by Snapper when I was growing up, but these were push mowers and that was a long time ago.

Check out 4H equipment on 4H road in Denham. Heard they had good shite. I wouldn't personally know cause I'm on a lawn tractor still.

John Deere from a John Deere dealer or a tractor supply store, not Lowe’s or Home Depot.
It has the Kawasaki engine, 42” mower deck that is welded, not stamped, and is an absolute blast to use

I love my Dixie Chopper Z2. I am sure Gravely is good also.

I have a gravely 42 with the kawi motor and it’s a champ. Residential use only and I beat the hell out of it. It’s got the stamped deck which at first I was turned off by, but I preferred it over the hustler bc of the foot assisted deck. Anyway I have been very happy with the gravely over the last 5 years, I only wish I had gone wider. Looking back I’d have done the 48 or 52

Nice machine.

Honestly, for the money I would just get a decent push mower. Then drive to the border and get you a kid out of one of those the cages. You can just take him back when it gets winter time.

Hustler Raptor all day. Had it for 3-4 years and it still runs and cuts great. Takes about 35-40 minutes to cut an acre. Hell the thing was even fully submerged after the flood. Drained it, run new oil thru it a few times and it still runs great. Damn well made mowers

How much yard are you mowing? Is it flat or does it have holes or ruts in it?
If it's rough it won't matter which of the 3 you get, it'll be a rough ride. I had a nice residential ZTR, that was basically the same as the Hustler. I never had any engine problems, but the deck wouldn't level very well after a short time having it. My yard was pretty rough and sloped in places.
I also couldn't mow at full speed, given how rough the ride was, so there wasn't much time savings.
All that to say, if your yard isn't fairly smooth I'd find a used commercial mower. Would be worth it in the long run.

The best mowers, hands down. Pricey, though.

Find a commercial Hustler...not the one they sell at Lowe’s

Yes sir. I researched for a year.....settled on a SCAG Turf Tiger 2 from Gautreaux's.
Ain't cheap, but it will last 2 lifetimes.....

And way overkill for almost all residential needs
Not sure why people buy the biggest and baddest commercial mowers to cut their own yards.
