You think he’s hot and you wanted more time with him, right?

Didn't know people did breakfast gatherings for Christmas. Do they stay and eat lunch also?

It's probably a Yankee thing. I moved up here as an adult and all my family were dead. Her northern family is all I have.

We normally do a Christmas eve get together to share cookies and other small pastries they all made and drink, then get back together Christmas morning to eat breakfast and then share presents. Both are huge productions for everyone except for her sister in law who does not give a frick about family unless it is convenient for them.

You defget it. We all don’t do the same things. So guy wants to sleep in. He feels comfortable enough to do that , guy should be happy.

Exactly. I can't stand people who get pissy about difference in routines.

I grew up with a dad who worked shift work, and we had a two story house with hard floors. I was trained from the day I started walking to be as quiet as possible when someone is sleeping. Yet it never fails that when we make the mistake of vacationing with others or staying with someone who insists, they're a full blown pot and pan orchestra at 7am.

And don't even think about declining breakfast if you don't usually eat in the mornings. They cooked that spread for you. You have to politely push eggs around your plate or they'll be deeply offended.

My SO works all hours of the night.. I'm no longer forcing him awake at 7am to be polite. We will get a hotel and wake up at our normal 9am time, and eat our first meal of the day at lunch like we prefer.

He has successfully established his dominance.

In all seriousness he’s probably an alcoholic. I would bet if you went into his room you’d find a bottle of vodka stashed somewhere near the bed that he had to nip off of constantly, and through the night. His wife is embarrassed and took him breakfast to try and get him somewhat functional.

Sounds like its more of a “you” problem. Youve never had someone stay at your house who slept late? Just pickup the leftover breakfast and move on. Its no big deal

If the roles were reversed, I would have been up with him this morning having coffee and chatting. Not laying in bed snoring and scratching my balls. It’s fricking Christmas and he is here for family time. Not a personal mini vacation.

His BIL sprayed his sisters guts all night and jizzed all over the sheets. Probably had a pillow between his legs for optimum comfort and blew farts into it all night and morning. Got the 4 diamond rated breakfast in bed at 11am with another BJ to get him ready for the day. A day of slouching on his furniture and viewing tic tok all day. Can’t wait to hear what he does in the evening act.

Old lady invites her sister and new husband to spend Christmas at our house this year. They arrive yesterday evening and everything goes ok, other than he’s not much of a talker. I get up this morning and fix a big Christmas Eve breakfast, the SIL and daughter come out to eat with us. BIL didn’t get up because he’s a “late sleeper” according to SIL. I’m pissed because it’s fricking Christmas Eve and you’re at my house but sleep in, instead of having breakfast with the family.

After we eat, have coffee, and chat for a hour, this fricker is still in bed. I dump all the extra bacon/sausage/pancakes in the trash because frick that guy. Old lady is pissed I did it so she’s sulking. Now get this! At 11:30 I see my SIL in the kitchen frying bacon and eggs for this fricker. Well I’m instantly pissed, but then she takes it to him in bed!! This fricker gets a private breakfast in bed on Christmas Eve morning! He then gets up around 12:15, comes and flops down on the couch and starts texting/fricking around on his phone.

I’m ready to fricking fight and haven’t had my first Christmas drink yet.

Rant over.

Nothing says Christmas more than being ready to throw down with distant family members over largely inconsequential shite.

Baw is rude af for sleeping in that late, but who gives a shite. Doesn't sound like he's that fun anyway. Let him sleep the day away and go about your own business.

You expecting a fricking hallmark movie?

The only person he gives about is your SIL. The rest of you are family baggage.

Stop pretending this is a blood relative that owes you anything.

Sounds like you need to adjust your expectations of people. Christmas doesnt mean unenjoyable coffee and chats at 7am for everyone

Well friend, I don’t know you but TD brings like minded people together.

Your BIL sounds like a douche, but you sound like you were acting a bit petulant. Don’t let this dude ruin your Christmas, kill him with kindness and tell your wife they aren’t coming for Christmas again….
