I got Adidas cologne from my 7th grade gf. It smelled so fricking bad. I would probably do 10 sprays before heading out to the movie theater to french kiss

There's an old baw who comes into our office a few times a wee and smells like some kind of industrial disinfectant. I dont know what the brand is but it ain't working for him.

my boss' boss was like this. He was a high collar, sports coat every day, type dude. He blasted himself with some horrendous smelling shite. He wasn't always in the office, but if he was, I could tell as soon as I walked through the front door. He left a trail.

I’m not trolling. If you don’t like fragrances, that’s cool.

I like fragrances, just like I like watches, and other interests. I also go with economical high performing fragrances and quartz watches. There are some great deals out there.

It has improved my quality of life. It is kind of like the essential oil craze that has hit over the past few years but more utilitarian. Bash away!

We had a chemist who must have bathed in English leather every morning.

This diminutive old English man.

You would walk into an office building and immediately know if he was there

I have a variety of fragrances, from after shaves to edts and edps (approx 50) Scents are very subjective but I just want to smell “good.” Knowing when and where to wear certain fragrances can go along way.

For instance the aftershave you picked does not look like a summer wear, but in the fall/winter or maybe even a cool spring or summer evening it might be awesome.

For summer, the Gillette cool wave after shave is one of my go too. Pinaud citrus musk is also an option. Now once we get into some cooler weather in oct etc, then I might get into my pinaud clubman, pinaud special reserve and old spice.

Also, some fragrances are deemed “safe” and inoffensive but not likely to make a distinct impression and others are not as safe but can really appeal and stand out to certain audience. It is useful to have some of both in your rotation.

applying these principles can make the fragrance seem less out of place, thus make it feel more natural to wear and less like an “old man.”

Ok... that's just weird.

Nothing wrong with smelling nice. But that's just weird.

I use clubman when I shave at night. The sheets smell like it for the next couple days.

My wife calls in sick to work just to lay around in the bed I was in

When men were men, they wore cologne.

I think I'll go with our Nazi-killing, cigar smoking, cologne wearing grandfathers on this one.

Did some cologne wearing dude not respect your preferred pronouns or something?

Dude, fragrances are weird. What one person likes another night hate and vice versa, it varies just like personalities.

By knowing the guidelines you increase the probability of getting compliments. It is a game. Once you start getting into it, you want to learn the rules so you can get good. By the way, I didn’t make that stuff up. Check out fragrantica.com to see thousands and thousands of others talk about fragrances in a similar manner.

Despite my pro-cologne stance...

I pretty much assume a man wearing cologne in the work place will stab me in the back and screw me over the first chance they get

Can't I just wear what my wife buys me and wear that?

They wore cologne to cover up their BO and cigar smoke.

No, but plenty of them assaulted my nose as I walked past Abercrombie and Fitch in the mall. Is your name Brad or Chad?

And the ones I recognize on here are after shaves, not cologne.

I picture you girly men spritzing a cloud of your noxious fumes in your bathroom and running through it with your lips pursed and eyes squeezed shut.

Then applying some more hair gel and tucking the chain around your neck into your shirt.
