No .

My Dad got transferred to a 'city' on the southeast Louisiana coast from BR during the summer before I was going into 7th grade. His hobby was fishing and we went fishing/duck hunting almost every Saturday until I got in the 11th grade.

That 'city' is one of the most cliqueish places I've ever been to. That place was still in the 19th century. Now I'm a understanding person who tries to get along with people but those kids will talk behind your back, make up stories, gaslight you, and lie right in your face. The week after graduating I moved to LSU and have not been back . After my Dad retired they moved back to Ellick.

One more Cat 4 or 5 will wipe that place out just like Atlantis. Phuck them .

Recently I was in a city where an old girl friend I haven't seen in almost 40 years lives. I thought for a short moment of reaching out to her to meet for a cup of coffee just to see how life turned out for her.

Dude she's ready to smash, the only piece you'll regret is the piece you didn't get.

My Dad told me you can count the number of true friends in a lifetime on one hand. I'm 54 and he was right. I have talked to very few people from my past, don't really care what happened to em.

What have been some of your experiences doing such things?

I met my old lover at the grocery, store, the snow was falling, Christmas eve. I just touched her on the sleeve, went to have a drink or two, but couldn't find an open bar, so we just bought a 6 pack and drank it.

It was weird, when Facebook started, I had an account, but it was only a few thousand and majority young people, so I bailed, ca.e back after Myspace died and I had my last 4 girlfriends in HS all wanting to be friends. Was weird.

One of them told me they make their husband wear the cologne I wore, because they liked how it smelled in me. It was weird, and I deleted them, because they would respond to pics of myself and the wife.

Probably going to marry a woman that I met again after 30 years from when I moved away. It was sparked by an innocuous comment that I made on a Facebook Live video that she broadcasted from a concert. . We were family friends as children.

That’s basically all I use FB for…

Me too, Brodeo rider. I have a fake name on mine, no friends, and have never commented on anything.

My wife went on it, friended me to her, then sent my link to all of her friends and relatives. They began swarming me. I ignored all of them and unfriended her.

Your Dad was exactly correct to tell you that ... mine told me the exact same thing.

If, when you die, you have five close friends that you've stayed in touch with, visited with over the years, vacationed with ... then you've done good.

Five that you can trust with anything. Five that will help you bury the bodies. Then you've done good.

Most people do not have five.

I haven't reached out to any old girlfriend. I had one reach out to me.
I didn't respond to her FB request. She was saying stuff like she wished she had married me and missed me.

First thing I thought was..
