People trash on smaller towns and rural parishes, but I still have many friends from early grade school through high school that I spend time with regularly. This is common for most people around here who didn’t fall into drugs.

I mean I trash on the small town I grew up in. It's a shell of itself. But it's true that you keep in touch much more than cities. You and your friends all still have family there. You knew their whole family, including grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, etc. I've been out of HS for 43 years and I know where probably 80% of my graduating class is and what they do. I'm probably FB friends and keep up with half of them and actually occasionally see/talk to online 12-15 of them. It's a small town thing.

If I haven't seen or talked to someone in 20 yrs, then apparently I'm doing great with out them...I would keep it that way.

Rarely has it amounted to anything.People move on. The one time I got back together with someone it didn't turn out well. That sweet cute girl I knew in high school was bitter with a touch of the bipolar. And she probably thought I was no prize either.

I see one of exes fairly frequently at the story actually. We lived together and were on the road to getting engaged when things ended. It worked out for the best for both of us, both married to other people and have kids. She quit teaching and started her own daycare about 8 years ago and she's doing very well, we have a 1.5 year old who may end up going there at some point for daycare/preschool. It's a little awkward but I know she would be in good hands there, and my wife doesn't mind if we place her there.

I will say on a serious note several years ago I reached out to a very old friend and asked him to be in my wedding. So thankful I did because he tragically was killed in an auto accident a few years later.

I called a girl that I dated my freshman year of college (1990). We hadn't spoken in 30 years. I was about to get a divorce. We hit it off. Been having all the sex for almost 2 years now. True story. She's hot....no pics

What have been some of your experiences doing such things?

They’ve yet to explain how right wing extremists stopped an FBI agent from investigating OMB and Rudy in August of 2022.

Oh wait, that was your dumb arse

It was literally almost exactly a year ago I googled the name of a sweet girl I knew in high school. We had mutual feelings for each other but I can’t say anything ever really developed because her mom put the kibosh on it bigtime. We stayed friends though at the time but then she had to go to a different school due to bussing. I had only seen her once since, a few years after high school.

Well when I googled her last year I came across her obituary from 2010. At the age of just 42. Even though I hadn’t seen her in about 34 years and her death had occurred twelve years prior it was still a punch in the gut. I’m still sad every time I think about it.
