Literally the only thing you need to know is what a Yield sign means. This is covered in driver's ed.

I like the ones where the right lane can always turn right without worry, and the inner lane is used when someone is going straight or left... or anything other than the first right.

I'll give you that. But the vast majority around the state, and the ones that people complain about, are single lane.
It will be interesting to see how smoothly the 3 double lane roundabouts at the I-12 exit in Hammond operate after a few months of being completed.

The roundabout by Fred's in port Vincent has helped a lot
They are supposed to put one at the Juban intersection too I believe
I'd also heard of putting them at the two Walker/I-12 intersections.

I think it's good that the State has taken a progressive approach to installing them. They want to put them in some rather remote, yet moderately trafficked areas on state highways. There is one on the new Stumberg extension in front of new Women's Hospital. That one will be fully operational once they finish the construction on Stumberg and Jefferson.

that's a 2-lane one. we are getting those all over LC
it's pretty simple (inside lane has the right away. only get in the right if you're making a right) but i fear that i'm going to be t-boned by somebody making a right hand turn or trying to make a 1/2 or 3/4 turn via the right lane

They are also installing one at Hwy 16 & Hwy 22 near the Diversion Canal. Prep work is almost done, road construction should be starting very soon.

Seems like some cones/barricades could prevent this and force the right/inside lane to exit the roundabout.

Never drove through one before the one at Port Vincent. I was a doubter while they were building it, but it's been a tremendous improvement. There is never any traffic there since it's been complete.

they would just make that a bypass lane that never entered the roundabout. the state likes the free right bypass lane, with the only entering vehicles going through or left.

Roundabouts are much better than traditional intersections. I can't explain why we don't have more.

the one they added at Fred's on the River and 42 made a huge difference. The whole Port Vincent intersection was a clusterfrick before that thing.
