I used to get actual scam calls and I would jerk them around. Now I just get hangup calls. Problem is even if you ignore them they know it's a working number.

I always answer and and 99% of the time if you wait you’ll get sent to a live person. I then say cock over and over. I call back repeatedly usually hitting 1 to get back to same person and I say cock over and over till they hang up. I’ll call back 3-4 times in a row and do it daily. And before the “I don’t have time for that” blowhard comes in, yes you do. Nobody that post here is very important in real life.
I have no idea if my method works or not, but it’s fun saying cock on the phone to people trying to sell you stuff.

I've been getting an email from some email address in the UK, saying I was seriously delinquent on some invoices and I should respond to the email to avoid legal action against me. No phone number, no company name. And I have no idea what they are talking about.
These scams must work on a small percentage of people for them to keep doing it.

Mr Number App works pretty well too, but a few still slip through.

I think what is going on is people who use spoofed phone numbers to do there phishing calls need to get new numbers to use becasue old ones get blocked. So they spoof a number and call yours to see if you answer...then it hags up. Then they know yours is a good number and its used to spoof people. I say this becasue I got a call one day from someone asking why I just called them and hung up...but I had not. Earlier that day I got a few of these local to me calls with no answers
Same here.

I've started answering my phone by saying "Go ahead, you're on the air."

I kept getting a missed call from DC but they would never leave a message. Finally caught the call one day and they were claiming that the government was pulling random phone numbers and giving grants for $14k. I was on hold on the other line when they called but wanted to play along so I told them to call back. They did, but I was on the other line again and didn't get to answer. Haven't heard back.
I had another series of calls that I'm still not sure if it was a computer or a person reading from a script. It sounded like the same person all 3 times and they just jumped right into it asking questions. Never gave direct responses to the answers I gave and then looped around and repeated a question they had already asked. I asked at that point if this was a recording and they responded with, I've never been asked that and that they had to read from a strict script so it might seem like a recording. They asked one more question then gave me the option to be removed from their call list. I pressed 1 and they hung up.

Anyone else get calls from a legit number? I called a 225 number and some oil field baw answered and daid he didn't call me. I answered number last night and it was someone foreign. They are cloning numbers now and it is not difficult.

Yep, get them all the time. If I don't know the number, I don't answer. My land line is worse to the point I turned off the ringer and let everything go to the answer side. Dam shame doing that, but I need to have a land line.

I agree. Once I block a number it tells me who the person is. Ive never called a number back to see if in deed the person who answers is who the caller ID says it is.

I got a call from someone in Lafayette telling me to stop calling them and that they were on the do not call list. So they likely are grabbing real numbers and spoofing them.
Not sure what to do about it.
