Ah, LAS Enterprises. The real-life fever dream of my childhood. I remember understanding in a vague way that LAS would take a rotten wooden home and restore its beauty, but I wasn't quite sure if The Uglies were actually some kind of biological agent, like termites.

Never really thought about the two-headed businessman. I was really confused by the overly proud old dude in the T-shirt.

ETA I think LAS had an animatronic "Uglies" billboard on Vets just west of Causeway for several years.

Holy shite! That billboard would’ve scared the hell out of me. I recall my mom having to console me every time that damned commercial aired. I just knew that two-headed man was gonna get me!

My brother and I were affected by that one for sure. When shite got slow we'd walk around singing, "be cool about fiiiiire safety- you got to burn to learn!" (though I doubt those were the actual lyrics).

The music video for Mr Roboto scared the shite out of me for some reason

That one didn't scare me too much, but I was kind of repelled, amused, and slightly frightened at Jeopardy by Greg Kihn.

Wow, this video really holds up. Still creepy and awesome when he starts stabbing the tentacles!

I hated the end of the night TVprogramming that went from the National Anthem to white noise. Freaked me out...

Ha Ha. That one was weird as frick too. I was only around 4 years old (1982) when we got cable and my older brother and sister had MTV on all the time. I have not seen that video in 40 years but it I remember it now.

Per the "Daisy" ad...

God darn! Johnson didn't pull any punches with that one. "Vote for me, or your children get blown to smithereens!" Poor kid.
