Have an 08 Altima with 225k miles and it’s been sitting idle for the past month since I’ve been using my wife's(no pics) car.
Went to start it this morning and it’s not starting. It has gas and it’s a keyless start so how do you know if it’s a dead key fob or a dead car battery?
Tried doing a jump and nothing. Also tried putting the fob in the in car dock and nothing. TIA

Battery has completely drained. Take to auto parts store to charge and load test.

Which battery? You saying take the car battery out and bring to auto zone?

Should be able to start without using the fob
If not probably car battery.
Try locking/unlocking doors if you have a key for that. Could be a security feature.

The 08 didn’t come with keyless start.

Pretty sure in the first generation keyless if you slid it into the special key slot it would not require a battery to work.
As stated before, it is possible that the battery is too dead to even jump start. take it to Autozone and get it tested.
Do you own a battery charger?

You know very little about cars.

Have your husband hook his battery charger up to the car battery. Let it charge until the full charge light comes on.

Get under the car and cut the gas line, snake it into the cab and flood the cab with fuel.
Light it on fire and collect the insurance, claiming it was a lightning strike from the storm this week
Profit

I did not see that you live in Jennings. Just tell your insurance company that a cop stole it. They will surely believe that, based on LEO history there.

Have you tried adding a gold chain license plate frame?

I think a battery life is probably about 3-5 years

When you get it going, put the car in neutral, floor it and drop it into drive. Warms up the engine and the transmission.
