This generation is too caught up in the formula for a positive transactional relationship. Probably more common with females lately to be honest even though this thread is about men.
I’m not denying that these factors aren’t important. Things like age, number of past partners, divorced or not, kids or not, credit history, tattoos, are all important and often are indicative of personality problems.
But what’s missing in the equation is compatibility and falling in love.
Let’s be honest, a big part of being a man and feeling loved is knowing that you are needed and that you fill a void.
A good, loving woman with whom you are compatible who has a well adjusted child is a person with a lot of needs. It’s not crazy for some guys to fall in love with that woman despite the potential problems. Also, please note that I said a GOOD woman.

One of the greatest compliments I have ever gotten was when I heard my step daughter tell my daughter that she was jealous that my kids got to live with me full time. She also wished she could live with me and her mom full time because she does not respect her dad, and for good reasons (that I won't list here)
