He’s not wrong and puts an interesting perspective on it. Think about it this way. If we were visited by another life form Earth would immediately take whatever shows up as a threat and have weapons pointed at it. Which I have always found somewhat funny that we would look to defend ourselves from something that is clearly much more advanced than we are.

That's not what he means. He's saying that based on our past actions, we could very well evolve into a malicious race, or at least one that is destructive to less developed races.

Space is filled with radio waves that’s nothing new. We’ve had radio telescopes for a long time. The weirdness of the FRBs is the amount of energy that’s packed into it.
