How did this "don't throw money at me" thing start with cashiers? Is this a cultural thing? Especially with Covid, it's a bizarre thing to bitch about.

See, I understand often times it’s best to take high road but if you continue to let people get away with thuggery then they’ll continue to do it to others.

Basically where I’m at too. I don’t personally find it insulting, but it isn’t a big enough deal for me to not respect someone’s preference. I taught myself not to do it when I was a kid and saw a big confrontation over it.
My mom will start putting dollars down and counting change (she pays with cash - exact change many times, KILLS ME) where she’s tossing coins down and shite. I’ve gotten on her enough times that she has gotten better. She would probably die of fear if someone confronted her

It's not a cashier thing, it's a culcha thing.
I had a NCO file a EO complaint against me because I didn't hand her a piece of paper and instead placed it on her desk. She maintained that the only reason I didn't hand it to her is because she was black.
Thankfully another NCO saw the whole incident and came to my defense. What really happened is that she was on a teleconference and I didn't want to disturb her. And thankfully she also got busted filing another bullshite EO complaint a few months later.
Most worthless sack of shite NCO I've ever come across as well. And her NCOER reflected it. No matter how bad the CSM pleaded with me to change it.

In our local case, I knew the girl and got along with her fairly well. One day, I was trashy and bought a couple of Powerball ticket and she put them on the counter in front of me. I looked at her and held my hand out. She smiled and said that I had made my point.
