New Orleans has a high vaccinated percentage, there are no vaccine inequities.

2019 census (quick look at wiki) says:

Whites: 60%
Hispanic: 18%
Black: 13%
Asian: 6%

We are talking single digits delta from the vaccination chart but it’s clear to me that more whites are getting vaccinated than minorities

not sure you can draw any real conclusion from this

That is because you have the ability to use logic and facts to direct your thinking.

Unfortunately, the media will tout this a "evidence" as some sort of discrimination against black people

Shocking statistics. Black people outraged that virus “disproportionately affects them” and are the ones wanting everything shut down and unemployment benefits to continue, but don’t want to get the thing that will protect them most. That’s up to whitey to get the vaccine. In their defense, frick the vaccine I am never getting it.

Isn't the percentage of blacks as a total of the population 13% or something like that?

Doesn't look like an issue at all to me.

A better stat would percentage of the blacks that are vaccinated.

This is a percentage based chart so the percentages should not line up with the demographics of the country in general, it’s based on vaccinated people, not all people.

This is again a culture thing. When the vaccine came out, healthcare workers and nurses giving the vaccine said black people were told from family and friends not to take it and don’t trust it. Hell even black nurses wouldn’t take it. It won’t be long until somehow the manner in which it was dispersed or taught to the community will be labeled racist with these statistics in place to point to as evidence of mistreatment of the black community. A clearer data set would be a racial breakdown of those offered the vaccine through their employer and those that took it.

Hispanics can be considered white as well (cue George Zimmerman jokes).

Your conclusions drawn from this.

Not too far off from population percentage. So what’s the issue?

When the numbers dont line up with the general demographics, it would likely show that one demographic is more hesitant than others. So yes, one would expect it to line up

And honestly, its close enough to where it doesnt really show any outliers really

But why single out blacks? Hispanics are even further below their population percentage (18% to 11%). Blacks are 13% of the population but 8% of those vaccinated.

It just about correlates to the percentages of each race based on the census of the US.

So I'm not sure if there's much to read into here.

Exactly, if they are trying to draw conclusions on racial lines, they need to show the percentage of each race that had the vaccine compared to the eligible population of that race.

The damn vaccine is free, too. So, we can just skip right passed the affordability section of the talking points.
