I picked up a vape about a week ago and it's been pretty solid so far. Gave up smoking and fried food for lent so it's gonna be fun

I feel for those truly addicted to smoking. I know of several people that may “smoke” 3-4 cigarettes a year, or take a drag or two when they’ve had too much to drink and are perfectly healthy. The true damage is done when your smoking daily and consistently.

A research team from Tongji University in China have made a breakthrough in human lung regeneration technology. For the first time, researchers have regenerated patients' damaged lungs using autologous lung stem cell transplantation in a pilot clinical trial. The study can be found in the open access journal Protein & Cellwhich is published by Springer Nature.
For patients suffering from chronic pulmonary diseases, lung stem cell transplantation could be their biggest, if not last, hope.
"Both patients and researchers need great courage to step forward from benchside to bedside, to test the new therapeutic strategy. Now the good news is that the strategy looks quite promising," said author of the study, Professor Wei Zuo.

First of all, congrats! It’s not easy. In fact, smoking is more addictive than heroin. So anybody discounting you quitting can suck a fat one. And at least heroin gets you high. Cigarettes do nothing.
I quit last December after smoking a pack a day for 25 years. Used Chantix and gum. A little tidbit for you: cinnamon excites the same part of your brain that nicotine does. So when you get an urge, chew some cinnamon gum.

I quit the stroke of midnight Dec. 31, 1997. Woke up with a terrible hangover, and the Flu. Not your everyday, run of the mill flu. No, I got the 'on death's doorstep' three weeks of flu that had me so weak I could barely have the strength to breathe, much less pull a drag on a cig. After three weeks, I felt strong enough to go outside. There was an open pack in my jacket. I pulled one out, lit it, and it tasted like I'd just run my tongue inside an ashtray full of old cigarette ashes.
That was it for me. Have never looked back. Have tried a few cigars since then, but just not interested in that taste any longer.

I had to ultimately move to another state before i was able to quit. Went cold turkey and stayed away from smoking situations for a few months. I smoked about 12 yrs and have been smoke free for over 8 yrs now. One of the best decisions I've ever made.

Chantix worked very well for me. I had pleasent and funny dreams. Wife would ask me what was so fun in my dreams. I had not a clue. 5 years smoke free after 40+ years of smoking. Quit even with wife and kids still smoked around me. Distract your self when the urge bitting your arse. Look past the urge. After one day its something to build on. After one week time to build another week. Smell and taste will improve. The main thing I did was not to anounce that i was quitting. Don't need additional pressure. One day at a time. Smoking is the most addition around. Fight one battle at a time. Good luck. And come over to the good side.

I had no problems quitting smoking. Huffing gas on the other hand.

Chantix works well if you don't mind extremely bizarre dreams.
Chantix worked for me as well. Dreams were actually great and really vivid. I took it another 30 days or so just for it. Some people get psychotic on it though.

Have a cigarette to calm your nerves.

Quitting Smoking Sucks!
You know what sucks even more?
Smelling like shite, aging like shite, and being constantly short of breath after completely destroying a healthy heart and lungs.
My dad, a big chain smoker, had a massive heart attack when I was two years old and by some miracle, he somehow survived and he quit cold turkey after that and I wouldn't be the well adjusted man I am today without him.

2 packs a day is like 48 cigs right?
I mean how do you fit that much smoking in?

40 cigarettes, I’m a medic at fire dept so plenty of time when nothing going on to smoke. Hell we even use to smoke in the fire trucks responding to fires. Of course we never smoked in ambulance while I’ve been there though. Doesn’t take but a few minutes to smoke one and most of the time I did a project or whatever while smoking
