Read Allen Carr's "Easy Way to STOP Smoking".

It has helped millions of people stop smoking like me.

Didn't you have cancer? Just don't smoke. It is that easy.

I smoked a pack to pack and a half for 9 years. I quit cold turkey. It was tough but I powered through it. Relapsed several times for the following 2 years after that. Something stressful would happen...I would smoke for a week or two...and then be good for several months.

I'm telling you though...you will feel SO MUCH BETTER if you can just tough out the crappy part of quitting.

Good luck, your health is worth it

I've been smoking since I was about 15. So, over 20 years. Most of the time it was about half a pack a day.

Yea I smoked for 14-15 years, 2 packs a day. You’ll get comments also saying just don’t smoke, unfortunately shite ain’t that easy, you and I both know. Ignore those comments. Just remember millions have quit with the same crutch and habits you have. I thought it would completely change my personality and entire life as a person. It kinda did but all in a positive way I didn’t think would happen. I now actually enjoy coffee instead of craving it with cigarettes, more energy, money, etc. Seriously, talk to your dr about Chantix or Wellbutrin, unless your a big pussy, side effects aren’t as bad as people think they are.

I had a scare but it turned out to be benign scar tissue from a previous procedure.

I'm more interested in monetary gain. Since quitting drinking I save about $900 a month. Tack on cigarettes and that's another $200.

Might give up food next.

Just chew Nicotine gum. I quit years ago. I'm addicted to the gum now so there's that. But I don't smoke anymore

I’m a nicotine gum connoisseur at this point.

I took up hiking right about the same time I quit. I hiked a couple times when I still smoked in AZ and it kicked my butt. Once I quit and was able to get all the gunk out of my lungs finally...I noticed I had way more endurance when I went hiking. I still kinda suck in general with my cardio endurance compared to many others...but I imagine that would be even worse if I still smoked today.

So try being more active, will be more of a motivator.

Bars, home, anywhere I could. It's why I had to quit.

When was spending $200/mo and the wife had been giving me grief for years I did the Wellbutrin(Zyban) and the craving went completely away. The only issue I had was the physical habit itself. It was a miracle drug for me....HIGHLY RECCOMEND. BC/BS paid 100% of the cost too.

Get a refillable nicotine vape pen. Go to a vape shop and tell them how much you were smoking and they'll tell you the nicotine amount you need. Slowly lower that nicotine amount every week or two until you're at 0 and then throw the pen away. I tried to quit for years with no success. After doing that I have even craved a cigarette in years

I quit by doing coke. When I crave a cig I do a key bump instead.

I smoked a pack and a half a day for 18 years. Quit two weeks before my first child was born. He just left for college last Fall.

It does suck, but you can power through it. There are rewards down the road- more money, better looking complexion, the smell of.... well everything. Breathing easier.

The cravings will go away, but you really have to be tough on them for a long time. It's worth it. Good luck!
