I know when I drink, I eat more. Especially unhealthy snacks.

When I go a couple weeks without drinking, I notice I eat less shitty food and snacks. That could have added to his weight loss.

30lbs is a helluva lot for just not drinking alcohol.

He for sure lost muscle mass, too, if that's true.

Which it isn't soooo....

I actually gained a good 50 lbs after stopping. And I’ve kept it on. I feel amazing physically. Mentally I’m still very strong even with the Mrs passing away. But I wake up feeling great every morning. And I wa read bad. I’m talking breaking out the bud heavies at like 8 in the morning bad.

I think a lot of the OT has cut back over the years. I think it’s because a lot of us are getting older and wiser

Now I’ll still drink a case at the camp or an 18 pack for college football.

Well my problem is that I just can’t have a couple beers… and I would drink like 8-10 tall boys everyday and more on the weekends. Almost died and when that happened I said frick it and quit cold turkey after over 40 years of heavy drinking.

It just hurts more

I still drink frequently, I have weeks where I don't drink at all, some where I drink every day, some where I just have 1 or 2.

It all depends on me staying hydrated. If I have 3-4 lite beers and 1 IPA then make sure to drink some electrolyte water before bed I'm good to go.

If I drink a 12 pack watching football and forget to drink water, the next day sucks and it takes the whole day to get back to square one.

It is shocking how quickly I become dehydrated these days

I haven't drank in 2 weeks and haven't noticed improved sleep but I never had an issue when I was drinking a lot. Also I haven't noticed feeling any better but I have lost a couple pounds (I'm good weight since I workout). I think I'll start back drinking 2 or 3 days a week since I haven't noticed any life changing differences.

Every time I read one of your weird posts, I picture a midget Tac Minor throwing passes off the knees of the ref, running between the legs of taller players, and climbing up on a chair to take a swing at John Brady.

It makes me laugh but it doesn't make your threads any less try hard.

Will take more than 2 weeks for that. Should be seeing increased energy levels esp if you were a heavy drinker. Push through to 7-8 weeks and you’ll thank me later. You’ll be a whole new man.

I got very fat the first year or two and I still don’t regret it. My tastebuds woke up when I quit drinking and food tasted wonderful.
I still love food and snacks. It’s my vice.
But I’ve been able to cross-addict with exercise so it keeps the weight off.

I was heavy drinker for years... bourbon is my vice...

I quit cold turkey and took up weight lifting 5 days a week (2 a days twice week)... went on a high protein, low carb diet and lost 63 lbs in 4 months... from 235 to 172

I went from a fat slob to a golden god... memory was better, stamina was better, sex was better, sleep was better, and I was much more enjoyable person to be around

It's worth it!!! Cut the alcohol, get in the gym, and your woman will never be happier

I was the opposite when I got clean, gained like 60 lbs. But that was because I started eating food again, before all my meals were cooked in a spoon

This is true.. I just lost interest in drinking... Not that I haven't quit but in the last 6 months I have had about a dozen drinks and they came in bunches... But definitely have a higher sugar intake and I have been watching it... And I never had a big sweet tooth..

My brother died April 9th from cancer. I look after my niece because he asked me to. She’s a handful. I don’t have any kids so this is new for me. I’m kind of retired. She’s in Oregon and I’m in Alabama. She loves chickens. So I help take care of her chickens. Chickens are expensive man. But it makes her happy. So I drink Tito’s. Should’ve been me. She busts my balls big time. She’s a sweetheart though. My brother did good.

That is roughly 105,000 calories that were stored in that fat. Which is right at 1000 average light beers. So 16.7 per day if the other calories in stayed the same and the calories out stayed the same.

I was always like this too, I never understood people having one or two beers socially.

Why get a buzz then have to feel like sheet when it wears off, if I drank one I drank 15-18.

I quit May 8th 2023 pretty much cold turkey
