Well, typically if I’m sick I don’t feel like dealing with other people. I’m not staying home for you, out of caution for you, out of respect for you, or anything.

I just don’t feel like dealing with people. I imagine most people are the same. Now, of course, you can say “oh no I definitely stay home out of respect for others” but we both know that’s bullshite.

Do you ignore speed limits? It’s a law
Seatbelt? It’s a law
Stop signs? It’s a law
Do you pay income taxes or just “nah” it’s mines? It’s a law
Seatbelts on a plane. Required by FAA

Wearing a mask is not a law or required in all places. Your question is stupid.

Not excessively. Technically, those are laws though.

Seatbelt?

I wore a seatbelt before the gubmint went all $afety about it.

quote:

Stop signs?

Again, see above about it being "the law". Also, there is a lot of good evidence that stop signs are good safety measures (but, bad for the environment because they reduce gas mileage )

quote:

Do you pay income taxes or just “nah” it’s mines?

I take all allowable deductions. Again, see above about "it's the law" kind of thing.

quote:

Seatbelts on a plane?

Meh - depends on how tough the stewardesses are checking it.

quote:

What rules are acceptable to you?

Reasonable ones. It isn't reasonable to expect Americans to wear 2, 3, 4 or more masks for a situation where the "masks" (dirty dew rags/bandanas are not medical equipment) are not only ineffective (see COVID numbers everywhere since the mask mandates went into effect), but likely counter-productive:

1. False sense of security so social distancing is more ignored (social distancing, on the other hand, is fairly well documented to provide some sort of defense against this sort of viral infection)

2. Masks encourage touching of the face for donning, doffing, adjusting. Touching the face is far more likely to generate a vector for you to get infected than not wearing the mask at all will.

3. Masks themselves are droplet sponges, concentrating particles, etc., providing a more robust opportunity for infection.

Now, if you're actually sick with this (or the flu), and you can't just stay home (which should be the first option), then, definitely wear a mask and make sure you maintain extra caution when around folks. Otherwise, see 1 - 3 above on why they don't work (really "can't" work - I mean viruses are small and this one is really contagious).

Yeah. Laws written by men in the high tower to have us underfoot and monetize their empire by unfairly taxing us using safety and security as a scare tactic. Those "laws" can suck it.

So would banning salt, fatty foods and soft drinks. Doesn't mean we should do it. Let's face it, almost every highway rule or regulation, from speed limits to seatbelt laws, is about one thing: raising revenue.

Unfortunately, I do agree you're not going change anyone's mind. I also don't understand how people's consideration and Christianity stops at simply wearing a mask. No body has a problem with no shoes, no shirt, no service provision that saves exactly 0 lives but draw the line at mask. Christ would be first person to say wear a mask, if it doesn't work so what, no harm. If it does I helped to save life. I'm totally sure Dr. Fauci spent 50 years becoming one of the most profound virologist just to get some red necks to wear a mask. It's absolutely the opposite of I'm a strong man to not care about the old woman behind the counter at a gas station who doesn't have the money or the insurance to get sick. The job of the strong it to protect thy brother and those less fortunate. It is the job of the strong to call out those who don't care about thy neighbor. FYI, to all you Christians, Jesus was a long haired socialist. Don't believe me, give me Bible quotes of his about Capitalism because I've got plenty about Socialism.

Here is more proof than anything you have provided.

quote:

Why is washing my face mask so important? Because the face mask itself can become contaminated, explains Dr. Adalja.

How many people actually wash their mask? You obviously don’t.

non maskers

Best part of not wearing a mask is it keeps all the morons away from me.

Mask under their nose, mask of bad material, they think a mask lets them crowd me, the mask loads up with corona and then they cough or sneeze. Instant Superspreader cloud.

In the beginning, experts said wash hands, stay 6 ft apart, and dont touch your face. Masks are superficial. Thats most likely from 20+ years of research. If this isn't true then they lied or are incompetent.

Last I checked, laws were passed by the legislative body responsible for writing laws. Mask mandates are unconstitutional executive orders that didn't require legislative action. But I'm sure you knew that.
