Ask for a continuance from the original court date which you have a right to do.
Cop less likely to show up for the second court date.
Cop a no show, you don't pay.

Thanks, old friend! Also, he wrote in there that my time was at 5 PM on the court date. Huh? They have court at 5 PM?

Are you going to 1st Parish Court on David Drive or in Kenner?
Yes, they have traffic court in the evening.

I cannot tell you how many tickets I've gotten out of by the cop not showing up in court.
What's your court date?

They can't do that. No one calibrates cars.
You sir, have obviously never ridden in a cop car- Police Interceptor Crown Vics verly clearly had "Calibrated" stated on the speedo. Would guess new Tahoes have a similar instrument.

You will go into court and admit you were speeding.
The judge will find you guilty of speeding and impose court costs.
Don't be stupud.

if only I could be as lovely as your broads, I probably could've avoided the ticket :(

I was in the far left lane and he in the far right. Around Loyola I noticed he got up next to me.
The left lane is for passing, and he was passing you?

I checked speedometer, it was still locked in on cruise at 68
So you are guilty of speeding. Personally I see nothing wrong with driving 68 (in the right lane) in a 60 but the judge will instantly find you guilty based on your admission.

he yelled at me through his little speaker to get out of the car without anything in my hand
Probably because you didn't pull over immediately when he lit you up. A cop can't read your mind, if someone keeps driving after the lights come on most cops are trained to assume the worst because their lives could be at risk. That's why he
quote:
scream at me through his little microphone to "EXIT THE VEHICLE AND SHOW MY HANDS"
FWIW, plenty of "harmless little females" are carrying firearms even though you might not have been. Let the cop worry about the safety next time - if you'd stopped promptly it would likely have gone much better.

Two things can happen:
1. Many times the city attorney will make it a non-moving, non-speeding violation and the fine is reduced considerably.
2. Plead not guilty. Guilt is determined by whether or not the witness/cop shows up.

Really? Pretty sure it's my right to pull over in a place in which I feel safe.
And I was in the far left lane due to an oversized vehicle in the right lane doing 45 on the spillway.

If you go to court, I would definitely bring up the fact you were passing someone driving the minimum speed in the right lane.
I would fight it but that's just me.

1) This is LSP, it will be handled by the DA for the Parish where the violation occurred (verify if it is Jefferson or St. Charles). Depending on your previous record, the might drop to NMV.
2) if you fight it, you stand to really get fricked (especially that Trooper shows up - and he will).

I've only nailed one broad on your level. Lapse of judgment

I always request a continuance from the original date.
Cops have NEVER shown up on the date the case was continued.
I haven't paid a speeding ticket in many many years.
She already said the court is 1st Parish on David Drive.

I don't remember this being in the bill of rights. What if you only felt safe in Miami? Do you "feel" as though the Trooper should follow you there?
FYI. What you feel has nothing to do with what your rights are.
Also, I don't see the point of this thread seeing as though you admit that you were speeding.
