It would be as hard to fight this in court as any other speeding ticket. It's legitimate.

I think it's bullshite that anyone would get a ticket for going 68 on an interstate, regardless of where it is.

I'm sorry this guy was a prick to you.

Here's what I always do. On the rare occasions when I get pulled over, I focus on making myself as forgettable as possible. I make it a truly "routine" stop. I keep my mouth shut, hands where the cop can see them. I take the ticket. If he got me for something I was clearly wrong about... I pay the ticket. I was wrong. You got me.

But, if there is any question that I actually did do wrong, I show up in court and plead not guilty. Most of the time the officer doesn't show up. A lot of times the judge doesn't even show up. If it actually goes to a judge, because you made yourself completely forgettable, that's your best defense against a police officer. By the time your court date rolls around, the officer will have pulled over a hundred other people. He won't remember the details of the stop, but you will. Make that point to the D.A.'s assistant before you go in, and he will either reduce your ticket or let you go. No one wants to do traffic court. No one. Indifference is always your ally when it comes to a ticket, and it starts with the stop itself.

Remember, though... that only works if you think you actually did nothing wrong. If you did... just suck it up and pay it, or bargain for a reduction.
