Betcha I know who it was. That dude should be named ticketmaster of the spillway. That's pretty much all he does

Really? Pretty sure it's my right to pull over in a place in which I feel safe.

And it's the cop's right to make sure for his personal safety that you didn't mean anything worse. Like I said, the cop has no idea why you aren't pulling over, all he knows is that you aren't doing it.

And I was in the far left lane due to an oversized vehicle in the right lane doing 45 on the spillway.

You said the cop was passing you in the right lane. Sounds like you didn't switch back to the right after passing the 45 guy.

ETA: To be fair, if this was a three-lane section and the truck was in the middle this could be okay. At any rate, the real issue here is that you didn't pull over immediately and the cop was likely concerned about that. If you weren't feeling safe maybe he had reason not to either?

If anyone would actually read the OP, you would gather it was the section of 10 EB that is 4-5 lanes. So I wasn't driving in the left lane on spillway holding up traffic.

when you see a trooper slow down. You knowingly did 8+ over the speed limit next to a cop. Then didn't pull over right away. You can pull far over right there on the shoulder.

The speed limit was 60, you have to slow down next to a cop. A radaring cop would not have pulled you over for 70, but this cop paced you and was probably wondering why you were keeping up with him over the speed limit.

How about these enforcers of "the law" you know are on their way home that leave you in the dust going 59 in a 55? Tearing up and burning gas in a tax payer vehicle after screwing people all day for doing the same thing they are doing? #lawenforcementpriveledge

What a gross miscarriage of justice this is!

Did you ask where he was going in such a hurry?

I don't remember this being in the bill of rights. What if you only felt safe in Miami? Do you "feel" as though the Trooper should follow you there?

FYI. What you feel has nothing to do with what your rights are.

And pacing isn't a legal basis for a speeding ticket.

I found this info (don't think it's Louisiana) but I think it's relevant:

If the officer simply testifies that he paced you, then object & motion to strike the testimony as having no foundation and being a legal conclusion. He'll need his speedometer certificate of calibration ... if he does not have it, don't ask him about it.

Just point out in a motion for summary judgment that this is required and there was not testimony regarding this required element of the test method.

All TBP needs is a friend who is an attorney.

Sorry but I live in DC and am snowbound. Still a good idea to pull over when the cop lights you up in any jurisdiction.

after reading this thread there is only one correct answer:

Picc, you need to teach new llotot how to handle hardlegs. You are a legend that many dont even realize.

New bitches give parking lot bj's for attention and post about it.

So sad

And for you new folk, picc is cute as a button and has a great personality. Unlike yalls hands.

Cop a no show, you don't pay.

But if he does show, she'll now be on the hook for court costs too, in addition to the cost of the ticket.

It will be tough for her to win since it sounds like she already admitted speeding to the cop (or, at least, didn't deny it).
