My high school industrial arts teacher...will always remember him for the lessons he taught me far beyond repairing lawn mower engines.

Malcolm X

quote:

When the people who are in power want to use again, create an image, to justify something that's bad, they use the press. And they'll use the press to create a humanitarian image, for a devil, or a devil image for a humanitarian. They'll take a person who's a victim of the crime, and make it appear he's the criminal, and they'll take the criminal and make it appear that he's the victim of the crime.

quote:

We won't organize any black man to be a Democrat or a Republican because both of them have sold us out. Both of them have sold us out; both parties have sold us out. Both parties are racist, and the Democratic Party is more racist than the Republican Party.

I see the Bolshevist propaganda has you my friend

It doesn't bother me if any man hates me, what does bother me is if they think I should solve their problems.

Whoever gets up, goes to work, supports his family, pays his bills and doesn't claim to be a victim.....probably the guy down the street.

Frederick Douglass. His conversion from an America-hater to a flag-waving patriot was remarkable. Before the Civil War, he despised the USA bc of slavery.
But After the Emancipation Proclamation, he saw that the country COULD change, lost his understandable bitterness overnight, and championed the USA the rest of his long life.

Any 16yr old who will walk 500 miles with just the hope of being able to convince a school to let him attend once he gets there... that's deserving of admiration.

I'd like to nominate the prototypical southern black preacher. Look at all he has done for his people.
