Yeah it's easier to keep to yourself in the city. I can go to the store and not know anyone and not worry about having a long conversation with a neighbor when I'm in a hurry or something.

Introvert and I feel the same way.
I don't necessarily want to socialize with people all the time, but I don't want to drive 30+ minutes to a grocery store or bar. I like things to do close by.

Hmm...very good point.

Rather the country. But stuck in the subs. But it’s not that bad.

I love both city and rural living. The city offers convenience of stuff to do, people to meet, and opportunities that just don’t exist elsewhere. You can make a living starting a band and selling art more easily for example. You can reinvent yourself on the fly.
On the flip side, rural living offers true freedom, fishing, quiet, hunting, atv’s, bonfires, etc. You can literally subsist off of the land. You can have deeper ties to the people and community around you that you were raised with, that your great grandparents and theirs played in the same fields, fished the same streams, and plowed the same earth.
Suburbs are just the worst. They lack the opportunities and fun of the big city while also lacking the freedom of rural areas. I could go full coonass or full urban hipster, but f$&k no to this suburban yuppie crap.

So let me get this straight, there are no grocery stores, gyms, nice restaurants, or bars within walking distance, I have to deal with a pesky HOA, and I STILL have to commute an hour plus to work? All because of the schools? F$&k that. I’d rather home school my f$&k trophys or send them to a mediocre private school.

Dallas burbs have tons of stuff to do and you can easily get down to Dallas anytime you want. Some of the burbs are former small towns that just go incorporated into the metroplex. McKinney for instance has a cool historic downtown square with some cool restaurants and a winery tasting room. Frisco, Plano, and Allen all have the residential/commercial developments with tons of bars and restaurants, like shops at legacy, waters Creek, and the Frisco square. Allen has a hockey team and Frisco has a double A and a G leauge team. The cowboys and rangers play in arlington, another suburb.
I don't get the suburb hate. There's plenty to do, at least in our suburbs, and it's safe as hell. Plano is consistently rated among the safest cities in the country.

I’m sorry, but Cowboy fans are among the most insufferable breed of human on this earth. I’m not sure if I could handle living in their homeland

Yea I’d rather my wife and I have our DC salaries and send our kids to Fairfax County Public Schools rather than DCPS even though I can’t walk to a bar or grocery store

You'd be surprised at how little I find myself interacting with cowboys fans. There's 7+ million people here and a frick ton either hate the cowboys or don't give a shite about the cowboys

For you folks who prefer living in a big city with lots of stuff to do, would you classify yourself as an introvert or extrovert?
Extrovert who is a homebody/gym rat
Make of that what you will

Well, Shreveport wouldn’t exactly be a paradise even without the Cowboy fans.

Country - extrovert
Been living in the country. Now that I'm retired enjoying the country even more. Have a nice size garden, free ranging chickens, rabbits and looking to get a couple of Pygmy goats.
Every morning I start off slow and taper off.
Some days I even go fishing!

-I also prefer Mid sized cities like Knoxville, Greenville, Asheville, Chatt, etc.
-Social extrovert who happens to be a hermit outside of work.
