I'm thinking of hanging my TV on my wall, above a piece of furniture.

My only outlet that is available would be lower, behind the furniture. Is there any way to hang the tv and not have cords show? I know I can't be the only person to deal with this.

Drill a hole in the wall or buy a strip and paint it the same color as the wall that will hide the cords a little

I'd imagine there are people faaaaaaaar more hands on than myself who could figure out a way to run the wires through the wall and come out beside the outlet behind the furniture. I'd have no idea what to do though.

Yeah I've considered the hole in the wall but I'm not nearly handy enough for that

Good idea on the painting a plastic strip

Gonna need to raise the wall up so that the outlet is at the same level as the TV.

If you can hang a tv, you're not far off from being handy enough to jump an outlet behind your tv

You need a power bridge kit... Similar to this one....very easy to install.

This.

How is one "not handy enough" for such a simple task?

Jumping an outlet is very easy. Take 5 minutes and watch a YouTube video to learn how.

wire cover

I've used this before. Not as discreet as running the wire in the wall but alot easier. Just paint it to match the wall.

Yup, that's a good way that I've used on a couple of my installs.

If the op has an outlet directly below in the same wall cavity, one of these would work as well

Lowes has some options for this and is very simple to install. One caveat, if the wall is an exterior wall you will have to deal with the insulation. That was a pain. Good luck.
