Who decided in the last few days that Dr Seuss was bad?
Was it just one person? A leftist think tank? How does this work?
Dr Seuss Enterprises (the publisher who owns the Dr Seuss IP rights) decided to stop publishing 6 of his books.

probably due to poor sales and decided to capitalize on it by going woke

quote:
The Spleen
On the OT,
There lives the Spleen,
He’s got a rotten,
Thinking bean,
Yes he thinks thoughts,
He should’na thunk,
and he’s not even,
High, or drunk!
No, in his head,
He’s got a worm,
It eats his brain,
Fills it with germs,
And makes him think,
That left is right,
That boys are girls,
And day is night,
Now he can walk,
And he can roll,
But it’s the worm,
That has control,
The worm has ears,
To hear, you see,
It gets its orders from TV!
So when the spleen,
Thinks that he thinks,
It’s just the worm,
Whose thinking stinks!
I’ll have you know,
It’s really sad,
But don’t believe me,
ask his dad!
For every night,
He cries and weeps,
His little son,
Is now a sheep,
His mother frowns,
And now she wishes,
she would have made him,
Sleep with fishes,
More tragedy,
For stupid spleen,
The soy gave him,
A tiny peen,
So kids, if you,
Want to be free,
Don’t let that worm,
Come from TV,
To eat your brain,
And rot your mind,
Think for yourself,
It’s quite sublime!

This wasn’t an arbitrary decision despite you progs trying to act as if they decided to do this randomly.

Yea same. I had to do some research outside of the threads posted here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with his popular stuff. Those are fine and aren't going anywhere. But I did see some pretty questionable things that were supposedly produced by him. I'm interested in actually reading those 6 unknown books to see for myself if they were actually bad or not.

The court of public opinion renders its decision swiftly and this one was done with no deliberation whatsoever
Obama himself declared Dr Seuss to model of inclusiveness just 2 years ago

Most or maybe all of the contributors to the US Constitution would be considered racists by today’s universal* standard. We’ll still use the Constitution.
*”universal” as in a generalization about an entire race of people. Racism.

Which word would you prefer? I could have used racist and anti-semitic that have been used to describe those writings, but those words seem to trigger posters here.
To wit, I've never read any of those writings and have no idea if they are as some people describe. BUt a few simple Google searches the other day showed that people have been pointing out his views for years now. No idea why his family just now decided to end publishing 6 of his books.

likely a few people on twitter so someone decided to write an article as if people all over were outraged. People then read the article and are told they need to be outraged. It's the same shite every time

The unwritten rule, societal more, whatever you want to call it is that it should be up the individual to decide what is ‘bad’. Our nation is falling down a slippery slope here, with the media complicit in the pushing.
The problem here isn’t JUST the opinion of the family of Dr Seuss, is the fact that SJW librarians etc are pushing this narrative as well, and are pulling these and other ‘controversial’ books from the shelves.
It’s un-American.

Best part is Dr. Suess was an unbashed liberal in his day. Huge Dem supporter... but maybe that was before the party switch idk.

This thread is going to be full of misinformation, so I'm going to quote you so that people who actually care about facts can hopefully read this

Did they remove children’s books under immense pressure from leftists or not?

"From syrups to toys
we'll find an offense!"
Said the Mob with no Job
to the people with sense.
For the Mob with no Job
had no sense at all...
Even put boys and girls
in the very same stall!
They whine and they cry,
they cry and they whine.
Harassing good folks
as they work and they dine.
"I want it for free!
Me, me, me... me, me, me!"
Said the Mob with no Job
to those paying the fee.
Plastic potatoes beware
of rainbows and green hair!
For the Mob with no Job
has no sense to spare.
They said "be less white"
and cracked open a Coke.
Then gave hormones to kids,
because, you know, "woke".
So as the Mob with no Job
tried to cancel all things...
Men joined women's sports
and won all the rings!
