I’m going to steal your poem for use elsewhere and I’ll credit an anonymous poet.

Not quite. It’s a little more. Some schools systems in the country have dropped it. Some of his books will not be published (his family’s company though)

There have published papers released over the years calling his work racist

If anyone's interested, this is a pretty good article from 2019 on Dr. Seuss and his politics over the years.

I thought there were school districts no longer including his books.

From what I read, a couple of districts removed some of his books from their recommended reading lists, but the books remain in their classrooms and libraries.

I think there are legitimate criticisms of some cancel culture incidents. This one seems pretty silly, and impairs the legitimacy of ones that are more legitimate.

Modern day book burning is what it is and it should concern everyone. It's not a good road to be on.

If there's one thing everyone should learn from our not too distant world history- it's "never trust the book-burners".

Tell them to drop dead, instead.

I'm interested in actually reading those 6 unknown books to see for myself if they were actually bad or not.

I read Mulberry street to my kid the other day and one of the lines was something about a chinaman eating with sticks.
That's the only thing I can think of that could possibly be found offensive.
Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature.
Asian-American, please.

Really has nothing to do with Dr Seuss, except he isn't black.

Progs are on a purge right now. Anything related to Western Civ is on the chopping block.

Who decided in the last few days that Dr Seuss was bad?

Was it just one person? A leftist think tank? How does this work?

From what I understand, Dr Suess enterprises decided to discontinue all of 6 whole books after a review/recommendation. Some of the major examples being related to portrayal of Asians. None of the books would be considered his greatest hits.

And then Fox News and Republican social media really took it personally and blew it up to what you are experiencing and seeming not to enjoy. Despite plenty of his old content being out of circulation and everyone generally being cool with a “let’s put aside the questionable and keep the solid” approach prior to this.
