As I sport my Rolex Deep Sea Dweller

How does that make your opinion (that a dress watch "starts at $800") any less wrong? For the record, the watch you say is on your wrist is called a Deepsea Sea Dweller (DSSD for short).

It's the opinion of a person who owns a nice watch because he wants to show off how much money he can afford to spend on a watch, not because he appreciates the craftsmanship or history. Just my general impression.

Phones are pretty cheap these days. They also don't come with the baggage of looking like a tool every time you're tempted to emphatically check the time.

I'd second Orient. Good quality for the price point. This is basically what I've been wearing lately in a black band. (Amazon has the men's version but too lazy to find a link to it):
Love Orient. My Ray is accurate to +/- 2s which is unbelievable for an automatic at $125. The Bambino should fit the bill here for an automatic dress watch way under $250.

My "dress" watch is an Orient Bambino, I think it's a classic look (brown leather strap). I prefer automatic watches, but there are lot's of quartz watches in this price range.

when i go to set the date and day half way through the day it switches and switches to the other language for the day. what time of day should i adjust it to get it rotating correctly?

You are off by 12 hours.
Most of my watches that are dual language cycle through both. i.e. at around midnight tonight it will go from Monday to the Spanish word for Tuesday (for a short period of time), then to Tuesday. They are on the same wheel.

That’s called midnight, when most watches begin changing the date. My phone does that too oddly enough. What you are supposed to do is set the time so that it is not between 12am and 4am, set the day/date to the day before you are trying to set for, then adjust to the correct time.

You have/own a forum?
I guess you don't "mod" on watchuseek anymore?
Is it as uptight as timezone?
