Looking for a decent quality watch with a white face and a real leather band. Does one exist under $250?

If you really want quality for that price, my advice would be to go look for a vintage Universal Geneve, Omega, or Tissot. There are some deals to be had on eBay and etsy.

Heres a nice one for 280

ETA: I win this thread. American made and widely regarded as good quality shite. Plenty of more expensive watches use the same mechanism.

$230 at Dillard. You get what you pay for.

There are some pretty beat up vintage Omegas on Ebay for around that. You would probably also have to put a decent amount of money into restoration. I also wonder if they are frankenwatches.

No idea if they will have what you are looking for but this website was getting some publicity in the DFW area. Reports are their watches are 100% legit

Do yourself a favor and check out Orient watches. In house automatic movements and quite possibly the best watches in the world at affordable prices that hardly anybody has ever heard of. Several in the "Classic" area that fit the bill. People who know watches know Orient and their quality.

Most are pretty beat up and they'll all be manuals at that price. Some do have refurbished faces, hands or crystal. Good luck finding a really solid auto under $600-750.

On the run and can't link anything but they are out there if you take your time and dig around. There's numerous vintage stores run by some watch nerd that can have decent tissots, omega's, hammy's, etc.

I just got my automatic in the mail this week, watch looks and feels great especially for the price. This one in the photos is $185.

Dome sapphire glass, 1,9 mm thick w/anti reflective coating.
AISI 316l stainless steel.
Swiss quartz precision movement.
Water resistant to 100 meters /10 bar (328 feet).

I'd second Orient. Good quality for the price point. This is basically what I've been wearing lately in a black band. (Amazon has the men's version but too lazy to find a link to it):

I'm gonna second (or third?) Orient. I love my Mako. It's not a dress watch, but from I've seen they've got plenty of options.

The vintage Omega is not a bad suggestion either. There are plenty of great brands at this price point. I recommend that you check out Watchuseek forums for a good list.

I've been getting bombarded with these watches from Amazon ever since broke made that Sturhling watch thread a while back.

Entry level for a dress watch is $800. Anything less is a beater.
