This is what I am saying, young, normal, 100% healthy people are not dropping dead from catching the flu, it is just not happening.
We have this thing called the immune system which protects from this.

Whenever someone throws out some random statistic like it is x% effective, and you will drop dead if you don't get it, then I call BS.
Is there an epidemic of normal healthy people dropping dead from getting the flu virus?

I would consider 170 out of 170,000,000 pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
If every person in the US received a flu shot and 1 in every 1,000,000 had a "severe negative reaction", that'd be a total of 327 people. 80,000 people died from the flu in 2017-2018.

EVERYTHING in life is about weighing the odds. You are orders of magnitude more likely to die from the flu than to even have a reaction to the vaccine for it, let alone die. Hell, every day you go to work you choose your income over the risk of dying in your car (which is significantly higher).
Do you refuse penicillin for strep throat? Because your chances of dying from a reaction or organ damage due to penicillin are MUCH higher than from the flu vaccine.
If everyone in this country got a flu vaccine, its predicted we would drop the average number of deaths per year to less than 1500 and around 300 people would have a severe reaction (with less than 50 dying). It’s simple math.

You keep saying this and it’s just objectively false. I can’t be any clearer about this, THOUSANDS of previously healthy people under age 50 die every year from the flu. And when pandemics arise (which vaccines help prevent) they generally disproportionately effect the young because the stronger immune response is actually what kills you (called a cytokine storm). The Spanish flu killed those from 18-50 at a higher clip than those younger or older.
