Did the media fail to adequately explain the situation or are people just too stupid to comprehend?
Yes.

I'll support this logic as long as it applies to everyone; therefore:
- Can't give assistance to anyone west of the Rockies because of earthquakes, forest fires, and volcanoes:
But they still get to keep paying their taxes of course.

That city's sewer system could backup and that would be an improvement.

Even though it should not surprise me people still do with how dumb they really are.
When I went to California about 25 years ago, this girl asked me how do I get around outside of new Orleans with all the swamps. I told her everybody has to have a boat or know somebody with a boat and we park our cars in Mississippi or Texas. She believed me.
People think the entire state is lower than sea level like New Orleans

They saw Swamp People on TV, so they know what the state looks like.
They also believe police won't look for a missing kid unless it's been 24 hours, and people with Aspergers are funny as shite.

I would love to see 31" of rain drop at everyone of the locations that each negative poster made.

Everyone in Louisiana should move because of flooding.
Everyone in Oklahoma should move because of tornadoes.
Everyone in Cali should move because of earthquakes and forest fires.
Everyone in Florida should move because of hurricanes.

I wonder how many of these jackoffs live in California? You know, that place that, one day, is going to just break off and fall into the Pacific Ocean with absolutely no warning?

The types of people that read the Washington Post live in a bubble where climate change is a religion and everyone in Louisiana lives in a swamp. They don't know anything except what they've seen or been told. And what they've seen or been told is a very narrow slice of the real world.
All these liberal elitists have to do to stay in their bubble is avoid Fox News and AM radio. Everything else they see on the Internet, social media, CNN, MSNBC, The Washington Post, The New York Times, NBC, ABC, CBS, Comedy Central, and from Hollywood will reinforce their opinions to the point that it becomes fact.

I almost made a similar comment earlier. Blame the LA film credits for people across the country believing all of LA is a swamp.

OT, but here it is anyway: years ago I read a book about medicine in the very early time of Louisiana and one of the stories told was that either Iberville or Bienville reported to the King of France that Louisiana was unfit for human habitation because of the swamps and mosquitos.

this is true, I have done the same thing to people in Cali and North Carolina around the same time frame.
I used to tell people there were no school buses, only yellow boats. Hook. Line. and Sinker.
