What does that even mean? Is this like people putting raisins in potato salad?

Sounds like an omelette with elbow macaroni

Apparently there's a such thing as a "custard-style" or "southern" Mac n' cheese.

Yeah, that's a hard pass for me.

If there isn't any mirliton dressing, I'm not coming. And yeah, don't experiment with the recipe.

One of my favorite Thanksgiving dishes is some odd cheese-egg casserole that always ends up at where I used to eat Thanksgiving.

My green bean casserole recipe is unchanged and it is made with crap you can get at the grocery store for under $10.

My now wife tried to fancy it up one year for Thanksgiving and I thought there was going to be a revolt.

I can’t agree with this enough. It’s just plain nasty to do weird things to food.

Macaroni and cheese is called such because it’s -

MACARONI

AND

CHEESE

now, ok, a little butter or milk is ok, cause that is like cheese….but eggs! Whoever did that should be shot.

Same with people who put mayonnaise in cakes and stuff. I mean, why don’t I just wipe my arse and throw it in there too!!!!

I don't know what makes stupid bitches want to ad lib a recipe. It's infuriating.

There's a reason one never hears about adding a bunch of dill to the dressing and stuff like that. The tried and true recipes exist because for a couple hundred years now people have celebrated with the same main ingredients (turkey, ham, rib roast, etc.) and you can't be the only to have ever had the thought of trying "this" out.

I'm saying, you may be Mom's special angel but you ain't THAT Unique and Special to be the only one to get the idea to spice things up a bit. From the perspective of the dish, been there, done that, got the t-shirt and it didn't go well. Know what does go well? The tried and true established recipe!

My wife made some dry arse mac and cheese for Thanksgiving about 15 years ago and her brother still gives her shite about it.
