Get some shoe polish and heel dressing

Always buy the small heel dressings. The large one is crap

I've never seen a shoe cordovan colored and not be made of cordovan. For some reason red and cordovan became synonymous because 9 out of 10 times they were a burgundy/red color

The quality and their reconstruction process are top notch. I find their shoes to be on the stouter side vs the competitors. Go to the store to get the sizing correct for the first pair. My AE's are all a half size smaller than other brands and E width; only time I ever have to buy wider.

Their boat shoes are worth it once they come down to about $100-$125.

That's because black cordovan is a waste of a good horse.

PSA--Allen Edmonds sale... Pretty nice. I like the Bocas listed on clearance. Prefer Magnanni as my go to dress shoes though.

I'm with you on the Magnanni. I buy a pair about evey two months and rotate them with about 15 pair of dress shoes. I won't wear a pair more than twice a week and never back to back days. I like the slicker lower profile look of the Magnanni over the Allen Edmonds.

I work in tech and make mid 6 figures. No need to look like a Finance douche. However, they're nice shoes I must say.

I pretty much wear the same pair every day during the week (I need to get a few more in the rotation but I admit the price is high and hard to pull the trigger). Have done so for 2 years. They hold up well.

I sent them in for reconstruction after clipping a curb and dinging up the welt and scuffing the shite out of one of my shoes. I also had over a year in them while not taking the best care (polishing and condishioning). Probably didn't need it, but I wanted them to look new again. They looked like a brand new pair of shoes that came pre- broken in. I have never gotten random comments on shoes like I get with these. Still after 2 years of wearing, people will randomly compliment them. I easily see years before needing another service. They just last, are very comfortable, and look great.

I have these shoes but in the tan color and I will tell you that they are like wearing socks they are so damn comfortable. The are extremely light and are very good quality, pick a pair up, you wont be disappointed.

We all have our preferences, but as an owner of several AEs and one pair of Magnanni, there is no way I could compare the Magnanni's favorably to the AEs. AEs, in my opinion are a way better shoe. Magnanni will also not repair your shoe like AE.

I find the toe box on most Magnanni shoes to be excessively long. Way too Euro looking for my tastes.

A true pair of cordovan shoes will run you at least $500 no matter the maker.

The last two Allen Edmonds shoes I've bought had issues - one had a crease develop on the toe cap and the other had wrinkling. I alternate shoes and use trees so this never should have happened.
