One of the most targeted financial institutions out there.

Against my better judgement at the time, I joined Gulf Coast Bank about 10 years ago. This is by far the best bank I have ever used. They have zero nonsense when it comes to fraud, and the 1-2 times I have had issues, they catch it before I do.

Thanks for the info Stunna! I had a similar but smaller incident happen to me at Community Bank. Two laptops were ordered on my account and they would not refund the money. I finally got a refund from the laptop company but they never refunded the shipping charges.
For those who are crying that you said the amount, you are just a bunch of jealous losers!

Wouldn't a $30k transaction have prompted an IRS report and all kinds of other stuff? My CU reminded me of required filings on their behalf when I withdrew cash to pay by contractor while building our house and those were only $8k payments at a time.

A few years ago, I had someone use all the money in my regions account at walmart.com. This was on a Friday, by Monday am, I had the money all back in my account. Now it wasn't 30k, more like 2k, but still. I have had regions since '05, very little issues, so far.

Yes, lie about the amount, lol. But glad you got it resolved. It shouldn’t be this difficult.

We have identified the problem. Hint: ever watch a Bama-LSU game where the “home office” reviews plays?
On a more serious note, that is truly unbelievable. And that’s coming from someone who represented Regions (20 years ago) in check fraud cases.

Advice:
Use a credit union or smaller regional bank.
I do not want my DTD cash with the big boys outside of brokerage accounts. I would find someone I might even know personally that works at one of these institutions.
Technology is great and all but its wise to stay close to the human as it involves your money.

So I'm with regions as well and I had multiple Walmart.com charges hit my account last week. They refunded me but I'm for sure thinking about moving money out instead of it just sitting there

Regions is the worst bank I’ve ever dealt with. They’re awful.

$30k was withdrawn out of my bank account back in August
I'm still waiting on OP to update us how this happened and in what amounts. $30k would have prompted a police report immediately IMO.

The withdrawal took place in 2 amounts.
$16k and change and the second on was $13k and change.
We did file a complaint with the FDIC, but received nothing back.
There really isn't more to the story than that.
Just happy to have received the money back.
I hope this saves some people the same anguish I had to experience.

So, how was the money withdrawn from the account? did they use your card number or inside job?

Any suggestions in the Baton Rouge/Central/Zachary area to use in lieu of Regions?

I've used Hancock Whitney for years.
Excellent fraud department, and lots of branches in the Southeast.

Same type of thing happened to me with Regions years ago…. I kicked their arse to the curb also.
They are the absolute worst bank to deal with on anything.

Moral of the story, don't do daily transactions out of your savings account and don't use debit cards.
