So cool Rebel!

Please let your kids know the impact they’re going to have on people’s lives is not quantifiable in words.

We’ve had this discussion

NGL, as we toured the home, and I realized the seller appears to be an engineer in the maritime industry, I feel a whole lot better that shits mostly taken care of.

She has been worth every penny so far. Don't expect that I will live another 30 years to take care of all of her mortgage, but I may provide for her in my will.

J/K. I'm proud of mine too. No house yet as she doesn't know where she will end up, but 28 and a doctor.

Fixed it. They don’t want to live in the homes we were raised in, nor the starter homes we bought when we got married.

I would kill someone to live in the houses my parents grew up in

Congratulations!

My daughter and son in law close on the 19th... both also under 30. It's a good feeling!

Congratulations, very deserving.

I got married, under 30, bought my first new house, put down 20%, paid all closing.

Close... proud mother. Her daddy is quite proud too, and so is son in law's dad. They're amazing kids and are very loved.

I was overjoyed to have any child, but as the son of a coach I had always envisioned having a boy to train for travel ball and the inevitable hall of fame major league career. Never dreamed I would have a brilliant and precocious girl and sit through dance recitals, fashion shows, and musical productions, but wouldn't trade raising her for any amount of riches. Far more entertaining and funny than anything I could have imagined.

You can still get it done, but it takes family.

It takes common sense, which should have been taught earlier.

Has the discussion been had over being able to move to a decent metro area and the income lost by not doing so been discussed? Or are you letting your daughter sink into the "but my cousins live nearby" attitude that keeps so much of Louisiana trapped?

Thought this was impossible in this day and age.

Nope, it’s not. Both of my kids had bought homes by age 25. Interest rate on my first home was almost 8% in early 90’s. My parents first home was at 13%

Congrats to your daughter. It makes a parent proud watching the children’s successes in life.
